Exactly. If you are content with having sex only with your wife, fine, go for it. For many or most, it's not the case and they want to experience more.

  5. Not so long ago, everyday existence was a rather risky proposition. Average life expectancy was markedly lower and you could die from an infection, eaten by some wild animal, starvation, etc, etc. The point is, everyday existence was hard and risky.

Although modern life is far from risk free, and perhaps one could argue that some risks have simply been transformed into other risks, everyday life is - in general - not as risky as what it was even a few thousand years ago.

Let's look at Jeff's life. He is filthy rich. His life doesn't feel "risky". Not only can he afford to buy food for dinner for the next billion years, but he can own farms to grow his own food and have Michelin starred chefs prepare it for him! He can afford the best house(s), car(s), airplanes, bodyguards, etc, etc. You get the picture. And he could do all this even if he got out of the "Amazon game" tomorrow.

The dude has everything, except some plain old normal everyday risk.

Even if the guy is not a super risk seeker, he probably had punani thrust before his face daily. So he engages in some risky behaviour that makes him feel alive. In fact, I'm surprised there are no stories of the guy banging supermodels.

The problem however is that first and foremost it leads to a broken family - although this happens - and secondly the billions per shag ratio is too high! This will cost him in the divorce.

As to why this woman? Who knows. Either chance, or she does it for him. Pretty or ugly is in the eye of the beerholder. :)

  6. And then their is the question... "Why is divorce so expensive?" (Because it's worth it.

  7. Could do the uggos doggie style and barely notice, you know. :)

All kidding asside... most couples divorce because "we've grown apart", "we're not the same people now" or "irreconcilable differences". The actual fact is that most people get married not knowing whether or not they are "on the same page" for all/most of our adult issues.

Years ago I regularly met a trader at an Einstein Bagels shop before the markets opened... who'd been formerly a marriage counselor psychologist who told me, "Only about 30% of either spouse is happily married". So the odds of both spouses being happily married to each other... <10%.

So... (1) spouses stray, (2) if they get caught and divorce, not the worst thing. They aren't all that happy in their marriage anyway.

    Sad, I think.

    Exactly!
Its also what Nassim Taleb is saying for years. We need risk, triggers, changes, exposure to different environments and so on. Otherwise, with a stiff, rigid, controlled way of doing things / living life we are prone to be very fragile, like the porcelaine figures while cute on the outside... can easily crush into pieces at some point.

Jeff seems to have everything but perhaps not... VARIETY? Bone shaking Adventures?
His recent transformation of the body confirms the need for a change.
Maybe he got just a little bored of being businessman, polite husband, who knows.

Take Johnny Depp. Some sources say he spent about 600 million USD and now is out of cash. But what a colorful life!

Here's lengthy, but involving article about the guy: https://www.rollingstone.com/movies/movie-features/the-trouble-with-johnny-depp-666010/

I read somewhere the average (mean? median?) length of a marriage in the UK is 12 years. Probably half that in the USA lol.

  10. This thread is meaningless without pics. Lauren Sanchez, his reputed paramour:

She was the first host of "So You Think You Can Dance", in 2005. Somewhat hot then.

Let's face it, neither he nor his wife are genetic specimens.
