Oh yes, yes, facts, reason and research. All right I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Let's nail down your argument then to demonstrate your shining beacon of reason where econimists have failed. First, am I right in assuming you believe there is an indirect relationship between women gaining the right to vote and inflation?
All I can tell you is I started in 1999 with, yes $5k in my account. I slowly traded back and forth and grew it today at a total worth of a little over 198k. Granted, it is not a lot compared to what others have earned; but turning a 5k investment into a profit of a 193k part time (also took off 2001 - 2003) is not that bad. I am no one special. I read the IBD, Barrons, books, watch CNBC, educate myself. Were there some bad losses, yea, but the most I ever lost was 2k on a 18k trade. I usually buy small 250 - 500 positions on anywhere from 12 - 15 stocks. I am trying to get into it more and more; but it is still something I do on the side. If I can start making 30k - 50k a month, then maybe. But the best teacher is your own mistakes. Not to just loose the money, but why and what caused the downfall. It takes time to learn and get used to the market. Patience is probably one of the most important things. One of my stocks just recently went down to 9.00 when I bought it at 10.50. I had to wait about a week and I sold it at 11.75 on 850 shares. Not a lot, but I like to spread my risks out in different stocks and sectors. I am still to worried in dumping 30k on one stock. Possibly in a few more months, but right now, most of my buys are from 10k - 20k; depending on the stock. I did well on EBAY. Bought a few weeks ago at 25.00, just sold it for over 28.4. Experience is the key. At least it works for me... Most of the time...
No, it was a question (And a very good question that a lot of people may be to afraid to explore.) But I do believe that there was a direct relationship with unemployment and women entering the workforce. Whats done is done, but these questions can lead to better immigration laws and practices, so we need to ask, and answer them. Regardless of the peoples cries of sexism, racism, or any other ism.
Indeed, it is a brilliant question. Forgive me, but I believe you were criticizing me for not seeing how you develop your courageous theories using facts, reason, and research. Economists may be too afraid to ask these questions, but thankfully you are not, so for the benefit of the rest of us it might help if you lead us through your facts, reason, and research. First we need to see what the evidence is: does inflation accompany notable changes in suffrage? For instance, when slaves were freed in the U.S. and women were given the right to vote, was there a rise in inflation? Can you demonstrate this?
No I was criticizing you for assuming. Assuming that I hated women, instead of: 1. Reading previous posts to explore the argument. 2. Using facts in your argument that discredit my question. 3. Showing a logical progression, so that if I am wrong I will be proven wrong and change my point of view instead of you just gaining the feeling of importance by being right, and leaving me upset at your criticism with no reason to believe you, but the emotion to dislike you. Anyway, you have begun to lead me down a logical path so I will follow you in the hopes of finding an answer: To answer your question, if you look at a chart of women entering the workforce you will see that it increases concomitantly with inflation, and when it levels of , so does inflation. Your take on this? (also I agree everyone has a VALID opinion, but what your opinion is BASED ON matters to me, so since you are leading me, could you please give me some form of credentials, I dont care if they are from self education or an accredited university but I would be more responsive to someone who knows more about the economy than me. Thanx)
Oh I agree, but I don't have the data. Since you have already done your research, where did you find your charts of women entering and leaving the workforce, so that I might check them out also? I'm sure you don't hate women, nor does Rearden Metal. Misogyny is not colloquially so narrowly defined as hatred. Forgive me for believing you have less than rational motivations when agreeing with theories about how women voting "fucked up" a lot of things, from causing inflation to Nixon introducing the gold standard during the Vietnam War. I am giving you the benefit of the doubt to show you have been convinced by facts, not "bad faith," in the philosophical sense. And no, I will give you no personal information whatsoever about myself. Certainly facts, reason, and research should speak for themselves. I'm sleeping soon, though I will not trade tomorrow with this market. So, wow me further with your facts and I'll check them out tomorrow.
Yeah Im going to bed too. I'm sorry, your last answer has proven (only to me) that you are dogmatic. again you are attacking me. From experience, people like you either choose to bomb the world trade center or join the KKK or other dogmatists no matter what I say. You refuse reason, something innate but also lacks instantaneous desire. P.S. Credentials are not personal information. (Example what do you know about Dr. Phil, personally?) but your argument against them gives me far more personal information than I need. What you have done is to try and circumvent the issue by changing the subject. This is a method that politicians use to proselytize the people. It rarely works in regards to changing the opponents mind, but it does work in brainwashing the minds around the discussion, making you feel better about yourself or making you win an election. Nobody knows you here, so why would you even bother? anyway, gnight
LOL, what are doing...are we in the business of buying/selling futures on women entering the workforce? Women enter the workforce more when the economy is "off" a bit...(not a sexist statement, just an obvious reaction when a second income is needed more). Of course, the percentage of women in the workforce overall has increased (and rightfully so, IMO)... Now, what was this thread about again? Don
