Your opinion and analysis were actually spot on. No need to explain. However, imagine, if instead of buying AAPL at 120, sold a covered, or buy META @ 90 & sold a covered..., used the fund to buy long dated deep OTM calls.
Selling a put to finance long dated OTM calls??? In hindsight,Ild buy AAPL at 120 and the long dated calls.. Im a great hindsight analyst
@Cabin111's timing was excellent. No need to apologize. He just made a sub optimum trade, that's all. In that situation, once he has his opinion, forget about buying the underlying and selling a call on the underlying. Just go and buy a long dated deep OTM call, sit back and let the trade plays out.
I have never met a successful futures trader before, so I do not know what mind set is needed for a successful trader. I do not know anyone to show me what I do not know, so I determine what I need to know from myself. Hey SML; I'm curious about one thing here; If you don't know any successful traders and you don't have any proof that traders who claim to be successful have actually made any money, what ever led you to take up trading? I'm sure there are traders out there who trade futures successfully and trade multiple contracts but they are probably working for someone else trading other peoples money. If you don't know of anyone who is making a lot of money trading their own money, might they be like unicorns or bigfoot? Everyone knows about them but no one has proof they exist.

Good Morning deaddog, How are you doing buddy? Great question you ask me. I use to date a woman who use to sell cocaine. I did not know until like 6 months after I met her that she sells cocaine. She told me about one of her best paying clients and how he was a trader living a big house and had computer screens and how we would make more than her in a day. She told me she saw him make like $30k in a day trading. She took me to see his house from the outside. He had very nice looking house. When she told me this I did not pay much attention to it. Then a few months later she said she was about to start trading the ES futures market like the client was doing. I remember going to her house and she had made like $25K in one day. I was startled and amazed. I thought she was lying until she showed me her broker account balance. I said, how you did that? She said I do not know, I just added all these contracts and exit fast. She was startled as well. From that introduction I started researching about the ES futures market and to be honest, I was shocked. I could not believe a normal person can trade upwards of 100 ES contracts Legally. Lol, I was pretty amazed. And that is how I got into trading.
Cool story bro. Now it's time for you to go to sleep with the meds that will keep you from trying to reach the 100 ES contract per day goal, and get into cocaine smuggling. It's less risky for you.
