He may or may not have a viable system, but he's a boor... and thats all that matters to me

  2. T280, you clearly have a high intellect and very sharp mind, which leans toward simple & concise. Your thread topic and the word structure in your posts demonstrates that. To you, less is more.

The same can be said for me... I have a brief attention span, and like to get right to the heart of a matter with quickest solution possible. That frees up my mind to ponder a similar task or something else completely different. I don't like to dwell on the same thing for what seems to be too long.

There are others who express themselves with 1,000 words when maybe 50 would do... or at least that's our opinion. Another version of high intellect feels a need to express itself in great detail. That sometimes comes across as demeaning or condescending when in fact it is usually the inner genius trying to express all the "importance", i.e. every single detail of a thought or topic.

See the difference? I don't think Jack deliberately sets out to be a pest. I think he just feels a great urge to chime in and offer his perceived nuggets of gold where needed. You and others perceive those same "nuggets" as some other makeup entirely.

In the time I've composed these couple of paragraphs, I also staged a sell order in the ES at 1461.25 and went to get a glass of water. Writing three paragraphs in unbroken sequence here was laborious for me this morning. Jack and others get so engrossed with their thoughts expressed that their coffeepot probably explodes before they think to turn it off. I check mine four - five times before the first cup is ready.

Trading is many things to many people. I'm firmly in the camp that less is more. I continually try to strip my charts down to barest possible bones. Others try to make the entry-stops-exit trade process mirror a NASA rocket-launch procedure. Whatever.

I trust the lurkers here can make their own determinations as to what suits them best. No need to try and save "newbies" from anything... heck, most of 'em are probably smarter than all of us anyway!

Did my ego actually let me say that? It must have been distracted for a moment

  3. "Jack is a pest, he tries to take over every thread with his pompous ramblings... he's not just annoying, he's the worst of all life forms... an ego with an education."

He's an ass who said he would turn mid five figures into 15 million. Pure, unadulterated ass.

Spring is in the air! We have a sunny winter day heading into the 40sF, ice fishing is at its peak and I'll be out there on the hard surface angling for perch this afternoon.

But first, we had the CPI throw us a nice bone in the ES. Adjusted short order down to 1461.00 and covered at 1458 on a trailed stop. Left some on the table, but hey... no one ever catches every wiggle in the chart (grin).

Watch those FOMC minutes out at 2:00pm est. For the past year, we've had much better movement off the release of this history book than the actual FOMC event itself. Go figure!

Could you possibly give us your reason(s) for going short when you did.

  7. yes... the market was going down (grin)

Seriously, there is a lot more to that decision than one can glibly explain in a thread, let alone one post. I have the utmost respect for everybody who honestly tries to teach trading methods inside this forum, but imo a public forum is not at all suitable for focused nuts & bolts.

That of course is my opinion, but trying to teach with clarity & focus while outsiders chime in and interject inside other's threads is disruptive, destructive and counter-productive.

Public forums are great for camaraderie and bits & pieces of knowledge. As a classroom type setting? Take a look at every method thread posted to date and see how focused and on track it remains.
