Why do folks reveal Profitable Strategies, are they NUTS?

  1. Tums, I assume you are referring to me?

Aah no. My name is Mark Jarvis.

I never post anything that I wouldn't be prepared to say to someone's face.

  5. Maybe if I made preposterous claims of profitability you would like me better? Then I could teach you my "methods" and you would kneel before me.

If you have sufficient degrees of freedom in your backtests, there is no curve fitting. Explain that to them.

I have never traded with Jack Hershey method or followed any of the Spyder threads because those would take years to catch up on those 1000's page novels. Call me a lazy bastage! :D

And I am very good at reading people (my bs meter works very well, maybe should have been a detective or CSI instead) With that said, I do not detect any kind of ill thought from Jack Hersey or Spyder or Mak, I feel their thought are genuine and they are not just puffing smoke.

I've even started looking at some of the reference material in those old threads (yes, it is quite confusing because I'm working slowly and alone), and cannot even keep up with the pace the new threads are growing. It is very interesting, I don't know if it is going to work, but hey, I guess I'll find out. If it doesn't work, I'm not going to be bitter or anything because it is my choice and my gut feel says to keep reading. I'm just gonna go do it, and see where it ends. And while other gurus talk about charity (as a smokescreen), I feel charity is very important to humanity. You give and there is nothing to receive, at least from my experience, but it just fills you with hope and positive outlook on life. What more can you ask for?

Technical Analysis is an Art gentlemen and all artist ( Painters,Musicians,Sculptors,Architects,Actors,Poets,Writers,Craftsmen, B.S. Artists) have their need to tell the world how they interpret what they do.

Thanks God for the Internet in our lifetime, where we can all express yourselfs in this newest of Artform.

Don't focus on the money, focus on the Art.

It's a shame that the artist called Antonio Stradivari (1644-1725) didn't have a need to tell the world. Three hundred years later we still can't build violins that match his. He took the secrets of his art, to the grave.

  10. Jack, I hope you honor the above statement. I have no idea if you are the real deal or just like to post a lot but I have to admit I am baffled when I see the threads related to your trading method that go on for hundreds if not thousands of pages.

In my years of trading I have continually found that the key for me is simple is better. Not because I am slow on the uptake but because it boils down to price and volume. It is pretty hard to over complicate that in my opinion.

I hope you honor your word and document the trades real time (otherwise it is useless) because it will reflect on your credibility. Best of luck.
