Another liberal reasoning by the exception to the rule.

Gates and Buffet have a ton of reasons to be liberal. If you were cynical you would say that it because they can eliminate competition by having democrats do their bidding.

But I will be more open minded and say when you get that rich you probably do wish to give money away to the most needy even if it is not the most efficient way to help the most needy.

  2. When I point out that Gates and Buffett don't seem to fit this "rule," here is our genius' reply:
So let's go down the list of richest Americans:
    1. Bill Gates liberal
    2. Warren Buffett liberal
    3. Sheldon Adelson Jew
    4. Larry Ellison liberal
    5. Paul Allen liberal
    6. Jim Walton conservative
    7. Christy Walton conservative
    8. S. Robson Walton conservative
    9. Sergey Brin Jew
    10. Larry Page liberal
How far do we need to go down the list? Except for the Walmart owners (and we know why they have to be conservative), everyone else on this list is a liberal.

    What is your "rule" again?

  3. Wow, all this "Liberal vs. Conservative" rhetoric is just amazing. It appears that both sides here actually believe that the two sides stand for what they used to stand for, or at least what the other side thought about their counterparts.

Where did your tax money go? A little place called Iraq.

The conservative party has spent all the money from the surplus.

The conservative party is allowing amnesty from the very top of the administration. I thought that might be a liberal notion, not sure any longer.

    The liberal party has whacko's.

The conservative party has an equal percentage of whacko's.

The "liberal media" isn't. I think "media" can also refer to Fox News, Rush, and the extreme right types with Murdoch.

The conservative party has used scare tactics, seeing terrorists under every bed to ADD to government via the TSA, which is simply a place to employ the unemployable. This is much like the liberal TVA back in the day to make up jobs.

There simply is no black and white party line issues any longer. We, as a Country, can be better than that. I know pro-choice/anti-abortion people who hate seeing babies aborted, and fight for adoption, but will still favor a woman's right to choose.

Some are pro-military, pro NRA, and anti-war. Why not?

Capitalism has been the over-riding philosophy that can bring left and right together. I know extreme people from both sides who trade together.

I would hope that we could get back to the point where the majority of 70% would be 35% left of center, 35% right of center, and yet who agree on most things, and do not need to sling extremist crap at each other.

Once one has made their money, there is no reason to be conservative. Socialism is the order of the day if you find yourself worth billions. Think about it.

Absolutely. The only thing left when you are a billionaire is mass appeal and celebrity and that ain't a gonna come unless you play socialist on tv.

Also, of course, the billionaire must be a flack for the estate tax and rail against those that oppose it, whilest quietly arranging personal affairs so that personal estate tax will be minimal (if at all).:)

  6. That's a sorry excuse from losers.

All of the people on the top 10 richest list have never changed their political convictions throughout their lives, before or after they made their billions.

  7. You conservatives can debate this among yourselves. :D

False. You have no idea what their politics were throughout their life. And none of those men you mentioned on that list spoke out publicly about their politics until they made their billions.

  9. Lol. Now we have another example of conservative arrogance. If you're uninformed, then it must be the whole world is uninformed.

Liberal and "reasoning" in the same sentence kind of jars my consciousness.

Al Gore is liberal, his policies allowed the national forests, the carbon sink, to burn, spewing billions of tons of carbon into the skies, then he sells carbon credits. To me that is liberal reasoning. Our educational system is liberal, the private sector has to provide the solutions necessary for our children to actually get an education, identity theft is rampant and the liberals have no answer for it, they endorse the homosexual lifestyle that is absolutely destructive to all who participate, they banned nuclear energy with their protesting and lawsuits that obliterated our voted decisions and forced us to burn coal which then adds more carbon and radioactive matter to the air than nuclear ever could, and pollutes the oceans with mercury, to the point of being a worry for birth defects.

Liberal has never been about reasoning, study some philosophy 101 and learn the difference between good and bad logic, learn about assumptions, learn the difference between data and information and you will have to conclude that liberal is not about reason.

Liberal in 1992 was about "hate Newt", liberal in 2007 is about "hate Bush", same shit different decade.
