Why Cuba Human Development is high?

  1. Note though that the entire developed world is below the U.S. It's telling that the U.S. has worse health care than even some developing, communist, and post-communist countries. Data like this tends to be a thorn in the side of the more dogmatic ideologues.

  2. Seems like almost all of Europe has a lower IMR (lower infant death rate) than U.S. Could be they have more affordable healthcare and better care for pregnant females. Canada is at 4.75/1000 and is ahead of the U.S. which is at 6.50/1000. everyone in Canada is covered by their national healthcare system, paid for out of the taxes that working people pay. Think Uncle Sam wanna spend some of that tax money on healthcare for the people.

  3. To even entertain the thought that tax dollars be siphoned away to the nation's healthcare system from the war machine and no-bid contracts to Halliburton is sheer insanity. How are we to defend ourselves from the great Muslim Menace that threatens to overthrow the bigotry we have in the christian party.

In reality, there were a couple studies out a month or so ago that showed Canadians and Europeans were healthier than Americans. The Economist had an article about the failing healthcare system in the US not too long ago. Of course we'll see the boogieman when Michael Moore has his "Sicko" movie at years end.

  4. Indeed, comrade. Your unsourced infant mortality rate tells all one needs to know about the vile stink of Chimpy McHaliburton that hangs over the imperialist United States.

I've found some photos of the glorious healthcare enjoyed in the workers' paradise of Cuba. Enjoy, comrade.

  6. Not only health care, but also measured education.

Also measurable: The education in East Germany regarding maths and science was very good though they wasted a lot of time learning Marxism-Leninism.

Not measured: Many children of those people in East Germany who believed in Marxism-Leninism became neo-Nazis recently.

  9. Yes, believing there's a basis for a critique of U.S. healthcare by contrasting its IMR with the rest of the developed world equates to worshipping Che and being a dirty communist.

I suppose then the opposite position is to be a sexually repressed, McCarthyite, freedom fry-chomping Mormon who furiously masturbates to the American flag draped over his bed every evening?

Americans seem to only be capable of thinking in caricature, so when in Rome...

  10. You're awfully excited, comrade. Here, soothe yourself with some photos showing the blessed children of the glorious revolution enjoying your statistics.
