Police officers can not stop you, frisk you without probable cause. To do so is unconstitutional, albeit the courts have allowed a multitude of sins in the name of probable cause.

Now if you’re asking is “stop and frisk” effective in reducing crime, especially in high crime areas - you bet it does but it goes against the founding principles of this country. Mainly

“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

Sometimes freedoms come with a price.

De Blasio on stop-and-frisk: 'We changed it intensely'

“When [former police] commissioner [Bill] Bratton and I came in, we drove down the unconstitutional stop-and-frisk deeply,” de Blasio said on WNYC’s “Brian Lehrer Show.”

In a fund-raising email sent Tuesday night, de Blasio wrote, “Not many people know precisely how much we have reduced the use of stop-and-frisk in New York City” from its peak in 2011, before stating the answer was 97 percent.

“I promised to fix it and we have,” de Blasio wrote in the email.

My experience tells me it’s simply that with more officers around, fewer people commit crimes in the first place. You don't need an aggressive stop and frisk policy, you just have to keep the number of visible cops up even though falling crime does not seem to justify them.

Monitored cameras of course have a big role, criminals avoid areas where expert operators see them and direct police.

Right wing racists like ipatent, vanzant,Mercor and GWB just like seeing police terrorize minorities just like past right wing racist enjoyed seeing slave owners and the Klan terrorize them.Thats why they defend police brutality and violating minorities rights.

The reason more black and brown people, and younger, get stopped is because they commit to vast majority of crimes.

Violent Crime and Stop Question and Frisk Activity The most frequently occurring race/ethnic group within the Violent Felony suspects is Black, accounting for (59.3%). Hispanic suspects account for an additional (30.4%) while White and Asian/Pacific Islanders account for (6.1%) and (4.0%) respectively. The most frequent race/ethnic group within the Stop Question and Frisk subject population is Black, accounting for (56.6%). Hispanic subjects account for an additional (30.4%) while White and Asian/Pacific Islanders account for (9.1%) and (3.7%) of total Stops respectively.

    Was Tony here after 9/11?
If he was, I bet he was bitching about profiling Muslim men at airports too because you know soccer-moms with 3 little kids in tow love to hijack airplanes and fly them into buildings.
