You have to assume the majority of analyst are dead wrong at the big turns. Back when Enron was a Wall street darling 10 of 15 analysts were still rating it as a "buy" or "strong buy" two weeks after the SEC announced it had opened an inquiry into the energy-trading company's accounting, Enron did not have a balance sheet. The company entered the biggest bankruptcy in U.S. history on Dec. 2.
A synergistic alliance. I personally have posed several thoughts to this thread.Your Thread! Time for you to post some insights. Please don' t start a thread again and simply judge the input you receive rather than offering possible insight of your own.
Your replies did not answer the original question. I asked for insight on my question. I don't give insights to people like yourself who fail to answer a straight forward question and just post non-sequitur babble.
Non-sequitur is a fantastic term...but only when you use it correctly. Please see below my responses to your thread, addressing the mismatch you observed between the forecast and the actual and positing that it was perhaps more than a mistake on the analysts behalf. semperfrosty 1,054 Posts 679 Likes re: Hawaiian Holdings Based on 6 Wall Street analysts offering 12 month price targets for Hawaiian Holdings in the last 3 months. The average price target is $4.00 with a high forecast of $5.00 and a low forecast of $3.00. The average price target represents a -17.70% change from the last price of $4.86. merger price $18 What did the analyst miss in pricing Hawaii Airlines? Susquehanna Maintains Neutral on Hawaiian Holdings, Lowers Price Target to $4 date: 10/23/23 More... Actually an interesting question in the context of that data. Something was missed.Thats no 'fluctuation'. #13 Yesterday at 9:25 AMReport Reply Share semperfrosty 1,054 Posts 679 Likes Even at a glance, a call of $8 or $10 would make more sense? I will avoid your arrogant and empty posts in future. Add some value or fck off.
Let's keep it simple. What facts or numbers convinced analysts that $4 to $6 was a reasonable price range ?
I thought I was pretty clear with my phrasing that 4-6 doesnt make sense to me either. I implied that perhaps something murky was going on,for you to have been advised of that. I then had a brief glance at both charts(I have no interest in these stocks outside of your query) and posited that perhaps the Alaskan 1 year performance had weighed on their forecast.(FYI the 5 year doesnt look much better). The thread and query were of interest to me from a curiosity stand point rather than an investment one but I felt I had contributed to a brain storming session with you and perhaps might glean some insight for another day. My apologies for resorting to rudeness. As usual,I have overreacted to a perceived slight. Cheers,
Analyst aren't making anything close to that. It is a shitty job for guys in their 20s who want to be worked like mules to prove their company men and eventually move up into middle management. It is not even that good of money if you figure out what they make an hour.
