Why are some people still refusing to get Covid vaccine?

    Here is the analysis.

Data shows 95% of 5,000,000 U.S. people in ICU had pre existing conditions / co morbidity.

Then add in age as big factor.

Then know the stats also say 96 percent in ICU had vitamin D deficiency per CDC study shared here.

Other studies show sufficient D may prevent infection and severe symptoms.

Natural immunity 13 fold better than vaccine immunity.

Consistent exercise also may help prevent symptoms.

And let's say your last cold was 20 years ago, and you work out everyday. You go to beach lot and started water sports again. And family members already had covid....

You really going to risk all that for a temporary spike in your antibodies...which may hook you into needing boosters for life?

I respect your decision making...for you...especially if you may have a compromised immune system...but I know the high risk vaccinated are potentially a bigger risk during a pandemic than the low risk. So keep your moral judgements suspended until we have a few years worth of data.

    Does OP really trade ?
Asking such a question in a site like ET suggests he does not, or does not know any actual traders

These people don't like the government telling them what to do. They are in favor of liberty, In addition, surveys say that 30 percent of Americans are afraid of needles. That's more than the 25% who are afraid of snakes.

  4. In this post I will cover my reasons for not taking the vaccine, my background, and my belief system related to viruses and vaccines.

Reasons I am unwilling to get vaccinated at this time:

    1. All vaccines cause harm in varying degrees. This harm can range from life threatening allergic reactions to potentially reduced immunity to different viruses or even a different strain of the virus the vaccine is supposed to protect against. Injecting foreign proteins into one’s body is fundamentally risky and will have adverse effects, even if not outwardly symptomatic.

    2. The real world efficacy of the Covid vaccines are substantially less than initial values immediately reported after trials. Further, vaccine efficacy for new variants is even less. There are statistics that are being misused to sell vaccines that suggest there is a wide difference in infection rates and outcomes between the vaccinated and the unvaccinated. However, these general statistics do not isolate key variables that are needed to confidently ascertain the value of the Covid vaccines.

    3. mRNA based vaccines represent a new class of risk that may, or even likely will manifest in lowered immunity and a multitude of longer term risks. Taking a vaccine that actually causes your body to modify its immune system is inherently risky. These risks include autoimmune issues, vascular issues, and even invariably fatal prion disease. There is no way to accurately predict what will happen after someone gets jabbed with an mRNA based vaccine in later life as immune health naturally fluctuates and as they get infected with other pathogens.

The decision to get a vaccine, or two, or now three, comes down to risk to reward. With vaccine risks, especially long term undefined, vaccine benefits not well quantified, and the fact that Covid is not an “Excessively” serious pathogen, I choose to not get vaccinated at this time.

I am a interstate truck driver who may have had Covid once thus may have some resistance as Covid may not be “Novel” to my body anymore. I live in a roommate situation which probably means I have a higher risk of exposure to Covid and its variants than most.

I have extensively researched viruses of immediate concern, stating with the Ebola outbreaks in Africa, and owned substantial PPE, including n95 masks, goggles, and latex gloves before well Covid hit. I continue to wear PPE even when not required.

I would characterize myself as an informed vaccine reluctant. Until there is a compelling reason to get vaccinated, I will maintain the status quo. For those who see the math differently, I respect their decision to get vaccinated. After all, it is their body. As far as getting vaccinated to “Protect society”, I am not convinced getting a Covid vaccine does that. In fact, the opposite may be true.

As it stands, the decision to get a vaccine under our current situation should remain a personal choice, with the possible allowance of some mandates for certain healthcare professionals. By the way, if the company I’m contracted to mandates a Covid vaccine, I instantly kiss my six-figure contract goodbye.

The choice I'm seeing now is get vaxxed or get your previous freedoms revoked eg. vaccine passports. I don't agree with this but the maybe group is facing a hard choice and it looks like they will be pushed into the yes camp.

Those firmly in the no camp will hold out at any cost, but this is still majority rules so I can see the maybe and no camp having their freedoms being taken away slowly whether they like it or not in order to get vaxxed. I can't see a positive outcome for those holding out in the long term. 20-25% of the population isn't going to revolt, nor will they win.

  7. Covid was destined to be a hit on our society and economy. Extreme policy either way probably will end up making the hit worse, possibly all the way to the point of systemic instability.

All I ask is that we be presented with accurate and timely information while being allowed to make our own decisions. If a particularly dangerous virus were to emerge, I have little doubt nearly everyone would be on the same page on taking protective action, including getting vaccinated, should an effective vaccination exist for that particular pathogen.

Manufacturing crises are a very effective way to sell products, a disturbing trend that has been on the rise in recent years. We see this in manufacturing, new construction, transportation, and even raw land purchases where software is required to be bought, engineering services to be procured, medical devices acquired(For snoring, AKA sleep apnea), and so on.

We must never condone or allow the suppression of free speech or dissenting opinions. Social media companies and news organization make their money through advertisers, yet need public participation for advertisers to be attracted. It is up to us to hold media companies and their advertisers accountable for their actions by calling out inferior products and harmful policies. If not, it is up to us to take our eyes elsewhere and boycott offending advertisers and media companies.

@BeautifulStranger I don't necessarily disagree with anything you have said above ^, but nothing you have said above ^ gives a long term solution to staying unvaxxed and having pre corona freedoms.

So I guess it's an open question to everyone not in the yes vax camp. What can be realistically done? Because if there isn't a realistic solution, then I guess we are all getting vaxxed.

  10. Unless trackers are included with vaccinations and authorities arrest and vaccinate those who display a heat signature without a corresponding radio frequency, the most efficient way to enforce mandatory vaccinations is requiring employers and the DMV to require them.

My health freedom trumps all others, including traditional employment and driving privileges. As such, the only way I get vaccinated is it is physically forced upon me or the risk/reward of vaccines improve from where they are now.
