>>Quote from bbqbbq: basically the money you make comes solely from other traders making mistakes>> No trader is competing with any other individual trader, unless your instrument is so shallow in depth that you two are alone moving the price back and forth between yourselves. Further, no trader's entries are based on the same exact systems as any other individual trader. There is no direct competition between individual traders, but between the churning tides of volume. Other traders' mistakes can easily turn into your own mistake, regardless of system, if volume kicks up against you. I would find it quite numbing to try and figure out, tick by tick, what the best direction would be, based on what someone else does. A mistake one minute can become a profitable exit the next. I guess we as traders work and think on different scales of time, not unlike our charts, but I would go nuts if I had to consider every tick. Guess I am not a tick chart thinker!
lol ok i will be more specific, i have PM ed exactly two people from the pl thread that put up huge numbers consistantly, and they have been very open to me and answered my questions. You can probably figure out who they are now. Of course I wasn't asking specificaly for their methods or anything , just some broad questions to make sure I am on the right track.
Your missing the point that the trial by fire is how you actually learn and learn how to trade for yourself. The richest guy on here could give you his exact method and unless its a straight auto trader in code it wont matter, you wont know what to do. I was lucky early on to have a successful trader give me his exact method...everytime I would ask a question on why my trade didnt work out he would have 2 extra variables to add that he had learned from trading his method for years. I gave up after awhile since it was clear his method was just a filter to trade off his years of market experience. Eventually I found my own filter after years of market experience. No one here can download the market experience you need straight into your head, your question is just out of context. Your totally on your own.
I don't agree with insulting attitude to some colleagues who are struggling and working hard in trying to find their way. Thatâs Anekdoten. I do agree with you guys that nothing further than screen time. You never know how much you can learn. It's more than you think, consciously. Check this finding about Subliminal Learning Demonstrated In Human Brain. Do not misunderstood me, I'm not saying that trading is completely can be taught. It's both nature & nurture, I guess.
