Why are IB's chart's so slow?

    that MAY be true for IB *historical backfill*

    with my historical backfill provider, i can get many many many more years of backfill (OHLC for each day) than just the year to date.

    which, for me, is essential.

    year to date is nowhere near enough ime

    i gotta use this space to give props to QT again. it r00ls

  3. I agree completely. If you need historical data for any serious stuff yoy have to find another provider besides IB. I myself use it only for the last 3-4 months as a background to hourly and minute bars for the last 1-2 weeks, so for me it's ok.

    I too would strongly advise anyone to refrain from using TWS charts and get QT. You can link it to a zillion other providers and websites, IB one of them, extremely flexible and has good support. Also, it is cheap or even free.
