Why are FAZ and FAS both down?

  1. Kind of looks like a correction?

    They’re mathematically designed to decay and both go down over time, unless there is persistent trend/direction. Without a trend (financials being volatile and going up and down) they’d both decay to nothingness.

    Answer is straight forward. Both starts with F A.

    Z is voiced.
    S is voiceless. (phonetics).

    That is why there is correlation

    agree.

    I looked at the 10 year performance, factoring in all the market pops & drops along the way till EOD yesterday. Approx $1800 loss on a 10 year hold on the total $20k investment.

    FAS growth with splits you'd have $18,135 on the $10k original investment

    FAZ growth/decayed with reverse splits/consolidations ended to $61 on the $10k original investment.

    the FAS/FAZ pair buy & hold is a losing investment

    Both trend sloppy;
    even though FAS has had some good uptrends above 200 day moving average.I cut a 3% loss on FAS + good riddance;when I was in it, it moved up worse than my other longs
