Why are Atheist's so Intolerant towards Religion?

    That depends;
    many of them confuse religion with Proverbs.
    Also since some think of Islam as religion, so i see their points on hating/fearing religion.

    One who sells the grain, people will curse;
    but blessings on the head of him[or her] that sells it-Proverbs 11 NASB
    One of the main reasons the talking snake media hates the Bible\ is the same reason a rattlesnake hates a mongoose.........................................................................

    What do you mean by "intolerant"?
    What do you mean by "religion"?

    How do you feel about Islam?

    There's some atheist in everyone, even you murray........................%%:caution::caution::caution::p

    Everyone is atheist towards every God except the one they believe in.
    Some people then just go one further, no belief in any God.

    It seems many religious people are less interested in determining what is true, but more consumed with insisting their religious beliefs are true.

    Something like that; i chose not to belive in a false god that charges higher taxes on ''infidels'' + firebombs Christian + Jews. Even more so if they try to steal mid east land .......................................................................................

  5. Atheistic intolerance towards any religion is usually mean spirited and has a superiority complex aspect to it.

    IF I was born in a country that mainly practice Islam I would probably be inclined to practice Islam myself.

    And you know what I mean by "intolerant" and "religion" unless English is not your first tongue in which case you can Google it. :D

  6. Atheism is not just one step beyond. It is a major step off the cliff.

    It seems Atheist's are less interested in determining what is true and they are more consumed with "believing" that there is no God and that there is no possibility of there being one. But as with Religion, there are multitudes of differing beliefs amongst Atheist's themselves.

  7. I agree, kind of. I'd be more inclined to say that all rational people are at least somewhat agnostic, even the Atheist and true believers of whatever God they have chosen. There is, at the moment, no way to be absolutely certain about this topic and that creates some doubt in all of us. Pick your poison, makes no difference to me so long as someone isn't trying to sell me on it.

    I think most atheists are of above average intelligence...just smart enough to see through the BS dogma/ritual/tradition that most religions are saturated with...but they are too lazy to spend the time to discover their own soul...the unchanging peaceful observer within.

    Imagine believing that all life doesn't share the same soul, the soul of god lol.

    I do see what you mean, however I think the rational behind the religious proposition is way too outrageous to be agnostic about, unless one is also going to be agnostic about Unicorns, Werewolves and Fairies at the bottom of the garden.
