Why an MRI costs $1,080 in America and $280 in France

  1. My sole intention is to contrast what I KNOW about the UK system with what a guy like you THINKS about it. Have you ever even been to the UK? It sounds as if you think that a wealthy Western nation can't mismanage its health care system and make it insensitive to the needs of its constituents.

Welcome to the Western Industrialized World where everything from your hospitals, schools, bridges and roads can collapse after decades of neglect. Welcome to the impending collapse of entire societies because we forgot to shovel the shit out of the barn before we laid down to rest. Welcome to the most contagious disease in the world: Incompetence!!

The ultimate NHS indignity: Body of hospital patient left to die in corridor is ignored for hours... before staff simply drag him away

  4. I've never been to UK, but I've seen their stables. The Queen is the largest landholder in Kentucky. That's why they say, "Before you buy a horse, always check it's teeth."

Next time she tries to give me one I'm just going to take it, because she gets really shitty when you look in it's mouth.

  5. so, how are their teeth?

    also, we don't have "plenty"

only 16% of USA population is considered "black"

  6. I am talking about basic economic concepts. Grow the economy, grow supply, allow competition and consumer choice. And prices will go down. If we only had 100 barbers, you don't debate about what needs to be done. You call for more barber schools and barber shops.

Alternatively the Barbers association could hire a good lobbyist, get a rider attached to a must pass agricultural bill calling for strict licensing of barbers only obtainable by passing a test written by the ABA (American Barber's Association), and imposing heavy fines and jail time for anyone caught cutting hair not so licensed.. Or obtaining clippers without a prescription from a licensed barber, and require that the FDA forbid access to hair products, shampoo etc. without a barbers prescription. :D
