And the U.S. is not just among the biggest oil producers in the world, it is the biggest oil producer in the world! And the largest producer of a whole host of other natural resources. So by your logic we then need to exclude us, right? Now about that inconvenient fact of what GDP per capita by state shows us when compared to political views....after we take out the confounding factor of oil revenues as you just insisted we do. BTW, I've spent several months in Ireland over several trips during my lifetime. You? If you have, then I can only assume your point was that the high GDP per capita doesn't trickle down much if most of the wealth is tied up in corporations or the top couple of percent of the population. Where in the first world is this inequality greatest? Of course, here is the great old US of A! I've rarely seen someone demolish their own arguments so quickly and thoroughly, nice work!
I guess the points flew right over your head. So let me emphasise 5 million inhabitants It is not tied up in Ireland, it hardly enters the country. It is just passes by to adhere to the tax rules before it is sent to the next country.....
And the U.S. has vast natural resources in the form of not just oil but minerals, hydro energy, huge agricultural areas that allow us to grow nearly any crop.....all things Germany and France and the U.K. and Italy, the countries you cherry picked to compare to the U.S., don't have. So no, your point didn't fly over my head, let's be civil here and you assume a basic level of intelligence as I've done the courtesy of assuming for you? You decided to cherry pick some countries that in fact weren't comparable to the U.S., then you yourself highlighted some factors (natural resource distribution) that make them not comparable to the U.S. I simply highlighted that fact for you and pointed out that if you're going to exclude oil's contribution to GDP in Norway than you also have to exclude the contribution of any natural resources in the U.S. to our GDP. I don't think that "flew over your head", I think you're an intelligent person and fully understand it. I think you're intentionally ignoring it and choosing to demean me instead because it doesn't support your position and you don't have a good answer for it. That's really worse than it flying over your head, to be honest. And again, let me emphasize this point that must be incredibly inconvenient for you since you keep pretending it isn't there. If you decide GDP per capita excluding oil contribution is how we should judge success of a political system (all what you've said, not me), then it's incontrovertible that red states are an utter failure with respect to blue states in the U.S. Ignoring that fact doesn't make it go away, it just highlights the weakness of your argument. I am thinking you don't really grasp how GDP is calculated? If something enters a country and then leaves, it nets to zero in GDP terms. But I am curious what your experience has been in Ireland? Seems only fair if you throw out the "if you've ever been to Ireland" line that you engage in a conversation about our respective time spent in Ireland, don't you think?
I've been trading for 3 years now, I think Wall Street realizes the party doesn't make a difference. Open borders...rolfmao. Too much newsmax. If you say they will allow more asylum seekers, or expand DACA, then I would agree. But that is far from open borders. There were no open borders with Obama and he had super majorities in both houses for half a term. Now, if you have an ethnocentrist agenda then all imigration policy is a doomsday scenario.
Everything is a doomsday ceremony to these people. As someone said earlier, they drink their own Kool-Aid and don't seem to realize the difference between rhetoric and reality.
The stock market and the economy and the world does better when Democrats are in power in America. The perversion of enriching the elite has to end- it is at a tipping point where mob rule will force hands. However there will no longer be a moron in the White House. Biden is smart, his administration is smart, and they are not chicken livered snivelling wretches like the pathetic Retardicans. No crash unless Covid becomes more deadly and vaccines stop working. Super spreader MAGA events will still cause problems. Stockmarket- no worries, plenty of cash around
