Frankie's pizza . http://www.frankiespizzaonline.com/ they close 3 or 4 moths a year and have been at it since 1955
Very true, can't remember my favorite spot as i have been away for over 10 years. OT, i do remember one place called Chicken Kitchen near Queensboro Bridge 2nd Ave and one lower like 53rd St,best roasted chicken and i liked their choice of sauces.Never had one as tasty as from there. Sometimes i miss NYC,on days like today i would go to McCormack's Pub and watch football, walk across the street and have really good fajitas in small Mexican joint.I lived in Brooklyn (Bensonhurst)
Hey there brother-in-arms, so did I for 3 years, cool! Intersection of Bay Parkway, Bay Ridge Parkway and Stillwell Ave. Straight line-of-site to the Wonder Wheel at CI.
Howdy, small world,I know the area well.I lived south from you,on same street as this house(locals know) If you went Bay Ridge Pkwy to actual Bay Ridge there is a sports bar to hang out and relax with friends,it used to be Fire House, cool inside with an old fire truck. http://www.saltydogbar.com/gallery/ From your place you must heard the music when Fiesta Santa Rosalia took place on 18th Ave,Angelo Venuto is a local guy and performed there every year,Italians were going wild,I like how they enjoy themselves. Few of a wise guys in Bensonhurst,it paid to be polite and they don't advertise, made area safe. I hear the neighborhood changed a lot, spend about 7 years there, before it was Ozone Park Queens and i am not Italian, enjoy their culture. There is no place like New York, everything seems so easy over there. Peace out,all the best to you
It was 23ish years ago. I lived 6 stories up, and if I heard music playing at night I do not recall it. My memory is not that detailed. Only things I remember from that time, outside of getting wasted at Atlantis and Ruby's on the CI boardwalk and the $1 beers from the boardwalk beer pushcart vendors, was this deli near the N/R subway station on Bay Pkwy that made great roast-beef heros. Yum yum. And the pizza joints? Fuggheddabouddit.
If I had to eat the same pizza everyday I would make sure that it was a Supreme Combo so I could get vegetables and at least pretend that I was eating a well balanced diet. I have only eaten at Mama's Pizza twice but it was good and it's independent. http://www.mamaspizzas.net/ Somehow I am not surprised that Cici's pizza made the list. I guess people don't like cheap pizza that tastes like cardboard. Unless you have kids and they don't know the difference.

I was watching a Law&Order re-run on the telly, and they had these guys in it... http://www.rayspizza.com/Menu.html Man, TV is cruel! Yep yep. Gimme' a slice of that pie please! http://places.singleplatform.com/famous-original-rays-pizza-3/menu
Ray looks a little pricey. It must be good. "You're telling me there's no room to move on pasta? Pfff. All starches are a scam". -Costanza
OF COURSE it is good! 'Tis a good thing that A.) I like you, vanz, and B). I be tired. I am very surprised at my own reaction to pizza talk. But I have become so adamant about the good pizza pies, almost violently so. What the heck is that? Is NY heritage really that important about making a good pizza? This would take years of analysis. (P.S. You make me a bad pie, bugger off, you're out of the neighborhood.) Seee? I don't even live there anymore and that is my reaction. It is like a sickness. K, forget it, all you goombats. I don wanna' know. Make all the pizzas you want. Fug you! Lack of quality, substandard crusts... Go make it bad, I don't care any more HAHAHA!
