I used to be an ETG trader. Then left and went SLK directly out of a small office with two others. Now, I am considering going back to ETG as a customer because of the Instinet relationship and the imporved Gr8trade front-end. The only restauraunt in Chicago worth talking about is the Weiner Circle. All else pails in comparison. After partying at the Burwood Tap, then onto Kingston mines for the Blues, the last stop on the way home had to be the Circle.
yeah the Weiner's Circle is good, but I also put in a vote for Greektown Gyros, which looks like it recently moved...It used to be down on Halsted and Madison, a short walk from where i used to live...You get down there around 3-4AM and you had better watch your back...great gyros...I also like Buffalo Joe's, but they are up in Evanston...good burgers, wings, waffle chips, etc...
Trading remote from lovely Lincoln Park. A block from Salt-n-Pepper diner on Lincoln. Thinking about going back in the office.
That neiborhood has cleaned up a bunch and it has a dozen killer gyro joints further south on halsted. Nobody here mentioned WE or Cocoa Pazzo, or the Italian Village. Those places are awesome, Bob Sun for sushi was allways very good. I know the owner of a killer BBQ place on division, and I will have to give him props...It is called Smoke Daddy you should all try it out, if you don't like ribs try there salad and soup, the best. comp
Left Chicago to San Diego in 1973, now remote with IB. Do miss "sign of the trader" is it still at CBOT?
