No prob.. Who's in the city? I don't have much room in my POS car right now, so here's what I was thinkin: Those who r in the city can meet up, go drink (Cubby Bear?) then carpool it out to the Admiral. just one idea...
I'm game...anyone else???? Ahhhhh, was there ever a more symbiotic relationship than that between a trader and a stripper? Of course, I refer to myself as a trader with all requisite humility out of respect to those who have been around the block.
I am assuming this is for Dec 6 (next weekend) ?? We can work out the details over the coming week.. Looking forward to throwing back a few with the gang
Just wondering if anyone who follows the Bulls has an opinion on our new coach!!?? Is it really the coach, or is it the miserable choices that Krause made over the past 5 years! I'd say the latter. Funny rather than hanging a banner from the United Center rafters.... they should have hung him in effigy! Regards, ICe
Not only were those choices bad, this new trade group sucks even more. I'll check out the next home game with all the new cast and fill you in. Let's hope they can find the talent center at least. They still lack a major go-to-guy.
I couldn't agree more. If you break this latest trade down, not only did they give up their leading scorer(Rose) and their most consistent night in, night out player(Marshall), not to mention Baxter, in return they received two players. The third is on injured reserve. From a salary standpoint, it appears Antonio Davis offsets Rose's salary(roughly 12mil for Davis and around 13.5mil for Rose), Jerome Williams isnt bad, but he is nowhere near as versatile as Marshall, whom I think will be sorely missed. If you guys remember the Bulls, pre-Jalen Rose, they were an offensive disaster. No one on that team was a true scorer and night in night out the Bulls would score 70-80 pts. Granted, the Bulls are 4-12 and the record looks terrible. But with the exception of a few blowout losses, they have hung tough in a number of games with big time competition. Many games have been tight in the 4th quarter, only to have some costly turnovers down the stretch. Unfortunately, I am also afraid they are going to try and deal Jamal Crawford at some point. IMO, he has more talent than Heinrich and Jay Williams combined. He is an oversized point guard with much better ball control than Heinrich, who also fits well in the 2 spot. He is a deadly outside shooter when the offense flows through him and he brings alot of game. The sad reality is that the Bulls and the rest of the Eastern Conference just pail in comparison to the Western Conference. In terms of timing, this re-organization was very contrived. Now that they are coming back home, playing an assortment of Eastern Conference teams, they will win a handful and Paxson and the duped fans will believe that the coaching changes, the addition(subtraction) of a core group of players was the key to it.
Just think, at one time they did have Brand and Artest. Both of whom are easily holding their own right now. Throw in Scottie and it would have been a better way for the center shuffle game to mature. They could have easily groomed a point guard into what they would need for that type of team's effectiveness. And true game understanding will not allow me to find any comfort in any east coast wins right now.
Elton Brand was so consistent and so polished from the get go, people so quickly forget the numbers he put up right from the start. He had a very developed game for a guy his age. Artest lacked some of the range for a guy his size, but yeah he was a tenacious player, one who would have been a Piston back in the late 80's. I think Paxson took a mediocre situation and has now turned it into a potential disaster. Alot of it has to do with the NBA culture these days. Too many mediocre talents, who get paid solely for the fact that they can entertain with their athleticism, but lack fundamental skill. It sounds outrageous, but just look at the shooting percentages around the league. Night in, night out there are an assortment of teams scoring 70-75 pts. This stuff just didnt happen 10, 15, 20 years ago. Too many underdeveloped players in this league nowadays making far too much money in proportion to their playing ability...
Many teams/owners are looking for their turn to have a Jordan type player, NOW! The current thought is that they can culture it if they buy athleticism. Very few teams are trying to develop a winning team concept. IMHO, they are all looking to develop great supporting casts for some "main" star to utilize. In most instances, you go to a game to see a star and his support cast and not a team.
