Cornhole, If you are interveiwing for PROP firm jobs, I can refer you to a few other firms.... Are you looking for a backer or an you using your own $$$??? Are you planning to trade in Chicago or Remotely? Also, the CME is planning a career-expo in a few weeks for recent Graduates and Grad students. ...I will post this info at a later date as I get it. and of course you are welcome to stop by our place for a visit. Susan
Yes I am looking for prop firms or other kinds of trading firms where I am trading the firms capital. Basically I am looking for whatever offers a good opportunity. I am staying away from shops that seem to be chop shops like many of the stock firms have turned into. For the right opportunity I would move to Chicago. That is interesting about the CME expo. Is the expo for positions open at the CME or for trading firms who use the CME to come and recruit potential traders? I am definitely interested in speaking with you. I will PM you about details as I would rather leave this thread mostly to doing stuff in the Chicago area rather then me pimpin for jobs. Any other suggestions about interesting must see restaurants, bars, cultural activities, etc unique to the Chicago experience.
Hello fellow Chi-towners, anyone know of shared offices or space I may be able to lease or contribute to for a VERY reasonable monthly rate? I have been tradin out of the house for a while and I need to make a change. Thanks
You can try calling the Brokerage Houses, Prop. Firms, Clearing Firms... Most of the firms rent you out a desk or a small office. Call them up, tell them your situation. I'm sure 40% of the firms will give you some feedback and a deal. Use their firm and get free office or discount, depending on your volume.
"The same nostalgiacs who voted Bruce's "Born to Run" and too many Beatles albums to the top 5 of Zagat's "best album ever" survey won't like this: In 10 years, Sammy Sosa will be more highly regarded than Mickey Mantle, who Sosa tied on the career HR list last night in a huge 8-0 Cubs win (1 up in NL Central, four to play). Not saying Mickey isn't an all-time great, but his myth is propped up by: * His good luck to be on a Yankees dynasty (kind of like Derek Jeter); take away the titles, and he's "merely" Ernie Banks. Sammy's popularity transcends his team's spotty record. * Current sports taste-makers who grew up idolizing the Mick, thanks to the 1950s forgiving, worshipping media horde. Sammy remains the league's most popular player, even after being torched by the media for the cork fiasco. * The "Seven" episode of "Seinfeld." (OK, maybe not.) Even more eye-popping stats, an ever-widening generational gap and senior senility mean that Sosa will inevitably eclipse Mantle in the all-time Pantheon."
