Who's Bearish?

Discussion in 'Index Futures' started by The Answer, May 7, 2003.

  1. Assume that the fundamentals don't support the current rally.

Next assume that the brokerage houses and others accumulated stock at lower prices over the past 6 months as a means to front run the economy and war. Then assume the economy continues to sputter.

Do you really think that these power brokers are going to sell their "inventory" at a loss? No, they will mark it up, push it up, jam it up in any and every way possible to distribute it to the sheeple.

Want a way to cleanup Wall Street?

Enact legislation that forces brokerage firms to reveal their inventory of stock on a daily basis.

  4. The reason the game works, is that people are still conditioned to ignore fundamentals in favor of price momentum.

Even after the decline of the last 3 years, even after people see that the game was a scam, they still fall for it.

All you have to is bid up the prices, and people follow. Mindless.

  5. What difference does it make as long as you're on the right side.

  6. From a trading perspective none.

From the overall health of our financial conditions, trust in the markets and investments....it makes a big difference.

While I have come to accept that for the most part traders don't care about anything as long as they get theirs, a few do actually care about the consequences, the long term consequences of the corruption and manipulation of our stock market system.

  7. I agree. But.....

As long as there is a stock market system, that has middlemen on every corner, corruption and manipulation will continue. My anger at that system, with it's flagrant manipulation, has kept me from realizing my potential.

I only get better when I accept it for what it is.

Granted, my passive approach to all this does not help improve the system. But my current passion is to support myself and family and let individuals like you create a better system.

If the "long term consequences" of my decision result in diminished freedoms for myself, then I only have me to blame.

I only hope someday I can get as passionate as the few you mentioned, but not today. I must chose my battles and this is not one of them right now.
