I worked for him many moons ago. Been there, done that. I would have to agree that STEVIE COHEN is the greatest trader over the past 15 years . . . He would be one helluva mentor. No doubt.
That's really saying a lot, especially coming from the guy that brought us the following threads in the Trading Forum: "Wow Factor: High" from areyoukidding? "New Black Monday" from areyoukidding? "Bear Demolition Market 2005" from areyoukidding? "Keep it cool, market bullish" from areyoukidding? "Why we will rally again today" from areyoukidding? "Why we are in the dying days of a bull market" from areyoukidding? "Load The Boat and Wait for Greenspan to Retire" from areyoukidding? "Too many Doomsday predictions for there to be one" from areyoukidding? "Does Anyone Else Think This Market is Manipulated Up?" from areyoukidding? "All Doomsday Refco Posts and Market Continues its March Higher" from areyoukidding? "From Beginning to End . . . How Newbies Make Market Calls" from areyoukidding?
Niederfoffer, i read his book, then threw it in garbage can. Then i read where he blew up, case closed... Was John meirweather the "Big Swinging Dick" in liar's poker. Yes, ltcm blew up but John is indeed a big..........
Victor's a cool guy & all that, but while I think he gets the award for most resilient, I would rather have someone like Ed Sekoyta or PTJ mentor me since I think I would learn the most about succeeding from them. Victor can teach anyone a lot about stick-to-it-ness and never say die, but I'd rather not be in that position to begin with. Whether you have that quality is an internal issue, and I don't think it can be taught. But having known him very peripherally, I do think he is a person to be admired. Just not to be followed.
