  6. The thing that has been scaring me for years is that people with the educational level Porgie "mimics?" may in fact be 50% of the people who vote.

  7. I think many people vilify Hill so much because she comes across as being one angry bitch. Always. I personally have not seen one interview where she was polite ever since she became a senator. She rants and raves to an absurd degree.

It may only be a personality issue, but I'd bet more people vote on likability than on the issues themselves. I bet a big % of Americans aren't even sure what the issues are! They focus on one or two things maybe (economy, abortion, whatever).

I personally have problems with both parties. I don't hate Hillary, but I don't want her representing my country either.

Its going to be an interesting one, that's for sure.

  8. Regarding Hillary. It's not important what a politician says, since they're likely lying. What's important is how they govern. A big part of that is whom they appoint to high offices. During Bill's terms, Hillary reportedly was constantly pushing for far left appointments. If you loved Janet Reno, you will love a Hillary administration. Gays will not only be in the military, they will run it. Our foreign policy will be contracted out to Koffi Annan. Socialized medicine will make a trip to the doctor resemble a trip to the Washington, DC Department of Motor Vehicles. Taxes? I'm guessing higher, much higher.

The difference in Bill and Hillary is that Bill was a natural politician. He could have easily been a republican, if he had sensed early on that the wind was blowing that way. His core principles were determined by polling. Hillary by contrast is a true believer, a hard left enforcer since her college days. She combined that with ethics and an affinity for corruption that turned heads even in Little Rock.

Luckily the voters tend to be turned off by grim, angry women with an agenda, well at least outside of California they do. The Hollywood and Hamptons crowd may love her, but the voters will find her fingernails across the blackboard style tough to take.

  10. Hyperbole?

What "far left" appointments? Gays running the military? Corruption? [ Whitewater was a bust right -- no charges.] I'd have a hard time comparing "Travelgate" to Haliburton to be quite honest.

As to socialized medicine, etc... that's the kind of stuff that people have different opinions about. So, that's an honest disagreement about the best way to do something. I'm not sure HC was actually pushing socialized medicine though. I'll have to google the plan.

I do agree about the perceptual issue with her. That's what I am trying to understand. What shapes it? So far, I have gotten and agree with the fact that she does not come across well.

Ironically, I find her far too hawkish/conservative for my tastes. Just goes to show.
