Who trades naz on MWSE (Chicago)??

I see amex making markets on OTC stocks all the time, but one thing I also see on the naz is the Chicago Stock Exchange. It doesn't seem to be market making (unless they enter some of their trades also thru an ECN, but what would be the point if it was just market making), so I'm just curious to know if an online broker routes orders there, or if there is something else going on with that...thanks!

 

Maybe, it is Market Makers from the CBOE hedging their positions?

Also, I think E*Trade routes most of its orders there (MWSE), as it owns part of a Specialist unit there. So, it profits from the spread at times, and pays itself for order flow.

Just a thought.

i'll take a look at the options trades whenever I see MWSE pop up on L2, but i wish i had a friend (where is FPC when you need him???) with an etrade account to test the E*trade theory.

Could also be a prop firm that is a CHX member, making markets there, probably for print rebates or some such?

 

They would have to be on the floor of the CSX to make markets in those issues. CSX isn't remote currently.
