Don't you love it when people try to make calls - or take credit for calls - based on the first half hour?

There's a half hour to go, of course, but it looks like both GG and Hershey were dead wrong.

  4. Sure do! GG, great call on the up day. With calls like that, I understand why he is losing money. He might want to spend less time making calls, and more time making $money$.

  5. You're half right. Between Gordon and Jack, only one was predicting.

As Jack has repeatedly stated, there are three segments in a day. Each segment flows into the next so there is no need to skip ahead segments.

The AM was a rocket which could be anticipated from yesterday PM per Jack; during midday you had CCC which I've noticed always occurs right before there is a scheduled Fed announcement; and finally in the PM you had a BO from CCC which was caught with a bracket (the BO actually occurred a few minutes before the cut was announced; price seems to lead the news often, doesn't it?).

Because the market flows, there is no need to predict ever. The predicting-betting regime is a trap. Until GG realizes this he will remain stuck where he is in loser land.

Let's not talk nonsense. Sometimes there are "three segments" in the day, sometimes there aren't. Anticipating this segmentation is not a winning strategy.

As far as "anticipating" (somehow distinguished from "predicting") an up morning, there was no reason to do either, just buy the retracement from or the breakout from the initial thrust.

    Keep it simple.

  8. Actually, you are right about this. Under the market's usual mode, there are three segments--AM, midday and PM. The times vary but usually the time boundaries are 11:15 AM and 14:00 PM. There are days, however, where midday extends into PM to the close. This is a flaw and is really a good bit of information. I get my cash register ready.
