~600 billion comes in the door at Treasury, and comes out into circulation on the streets of the US, and ~200 bln each year thereafter. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how DJTs predecessor's could NOT have made the corporate tax reduction and repatriation simple task #1. That was the idiot test that no one could pass until now.
Maybe so ... I suspect "repatriation", in practice, is hugely politically loaded and complicated, but reductions in corporation taxes ought to be, economically, a real "no-brainer". That one certainly is an "idiot test". And not only "over there".
LOLOL! While I may be guilty of asking too many easily googable questions, I appreciate talking with ETers and getting their perspective! So many times I will read some article about X, Y and Z, and get hyped up, and I come here and ask about it, and everyone is like "nope, thats bs, been tried, never pans out". But come on, regirgotating (sp) mindless bullshit in response to a question? Mindless? Really? I usually dont pipe up unless I have at least some knowledge of the materials associated with the question! Im not lawrence luger after all! Give me examples!!! I demand justice!!! Thanks for the call out though haha.
Well I've been here for a few days, and I think its best to ignore pretty much everybody here. There are a few gems thrown in there, but the amount of total BS you have to read through to find them is just too much to deal with. SO MUCH EGO too omg. The worst thing I see is that so many people are not only trapped in their own mental cages, so sure they understand reality, but also so willing to try to draw other people into their same trapped thinking that I think it's detrimental to even keep casually reading, honestly. So many rules people are sure have to be the truth, either because of what they've read in some author's book, or I don't know where it is all coming from, definitely not experience from reading some of it. I don't know how many times in my reading here that I saw something said with absolute certaintly and I was like .. not only does that not make much sense, it's even built on very basic underlying assumptions I think are weird. I like the forum though, but it's probably a better place to just ask questions about very specific things and get answers. Some of the participants here are really nice too, so casual conversation about things other than trading would be good too. I can't believe so many people can say their opinion with such unflinching absolute certainty and not be embarrassed by what they are saying. I think its much better to ignore pretty much everything here and just focus on your tools and analyzing the market, honing skills, etc, the market isn't the only reality, but it's probably the most important reality in this context, and probably the only way to know it is to dance with it.
Thanks for the feedback. A few days on ET is not long enough imo to be able to accurately define ET BS, but no doubt it is here in spadefuls. I think what happens often, noobs come onboard and they are 'know it alls', but I can relate to that being a noob myself once upon a time, plus going thru the know it all phase. My suggestion for more time efficient and quality reading is; be liberal using the ignore feature, just dump the idiots into the ignore bin, then those whom you believe have real trading experience and write with intelligence, add them to a 'follow' feature by clicking on their User Name. Then when you want to read on ET, click on your User Name and click on 'Your News Feeds'. This will bring up all the latest comments by those whom you follow. I have a coupla hundred on ignore (95% whom no longer frequent ET) and I must have a good coupla hundred maybe whom I follow.
Great traders are like sports stars...they come and go, some die...and some new one's grow into existence. Don't be so obsessed with the past. But I'm always curious though when someone speaks highly of someone, but they are somewhat so ashamed to reveal their trading records. A great trader/poster isn't someone that holds a Ph.D in Economics and are able to talk for hours and days on the topic...but rather a relatively random Joe who is able to exponentially grow his account.
