  2. There is another solution of course.

Give India the green light to invade Iran, with the US to provide air support.

India will obtain oil riches and the US will not have to risk people on the ground.

The fear that we could encourage India to move on to other areas as well will be a sufficient threat to keep all those madmen in other countries in check.

The population wouldn't be worse off than they are today as they don't have freedom anyway.

  4. msfe, I think you are slightly confused.

Indians are fierce fighters, India is overpopulated, has constant problems with fights with muslims, is a poor country and therefore needs more riches. I think it is also safe to assume that they are people who are reasonable and would do a good job in being administrators.

We hear so many lefties talk about sharing. Well isn't it better to share the oil wealth with the Indians rather than some despot
    lining his pockets ?

Now YOU tell me what Lichtenstein has done to deserve a go at obtaining some colonies.

In a couple of centuries the countries can perhaps be handed back to the original inhabitants once they appreciate the idea of democracy and living in peace with their neigbours.

  5. that's a nice solution freealways...

let the indians go after iran... and, of course, that presupposes that they'll go through pakistan to get there...two birds with one stone.... or maybe we could meet them half way?

kinda like the russians and americans at the end of ww2...

  6. The idea of the Cowboys having a strategic alliance with the Indians is actually kinda attractive, given their shared threat perceptions vis-a-vis what they both label as Islamic Terrorism... indeed, there already exists a strong strategic relationship between India and Israel (weapons development, joint training exercises etc), so in a post-Cold War environment, there is a great deal of merit in the USA and India joining forces...

For such a strategic alliance to work, it is imperative for the USA to stop backing the Pakistanis, and to label them as terrorists...

That way, the Indians get to attack the Pakistanis without US opposition, and the USA has an alliance with a democratic, non-Islamic, and fundamentally capitalist strategic counterweight to China in the region...

India is not quite a non-Islamic state. as a matter of fact, India has the fourth biggest muslim population of all nations of the world (1st Indonesia, 2nd Pakistan, 3rd Bangladesh) with more than 100 million muslim believers.

  8. From what I heard, it has a population of 1 billion, the vast majority of whom are Hindus, who have been historically opposed to the influence of Islamic terrorism in that region... India also has a less than amiable relationship with China... on both the anti-Islamic Terror and Chinese perspectives, I believe India is a country who we can create some kind of wide-ranging strategic alliance with... indeed, Israel has recognised this fact, and Israel has a flourishing strategic and military relationship with India...

  10. Israel has received some major military contracts from India, and it has agreed to train several thousand Indian commandos in guerrila warfare (to be trained on Israeli territory), to help the Indians in their fight against the Islamic terrorists... moreover, plenty has been said about India having tested nukes on Israel's behalf on Indian territory... yes there are many Muslims in India, but they are in fact a pretty small minority on a proportionate basis (according to the CIA World Factbook 2002, over 810 million of the 1 billion Indians are Hindu, with the rest split between Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist and others) and the Muslims don't hold much power there... the strong relationship between the Jews in Israel and the Hindus in India (India is run by a Hindu nationalist regime) is based on shared threat perception (i.e. Islamic terror) and the fact that Pakistan is the only country to have the Islamic nuke...

Shimon Peres was recently in India to offer India unconditional support against Pakistan... additionally, it looks like the USA is gradually re-assessing its Cold War warmth with the Pakistanis (given that Russia is now on our side) in favor of the Indians... this is a good thing... indeed, an F16 deal with India is in the pipeline and the USA has refused to sell em to the Pakistanis...

If the Indians are good news for the Israelis (and they are) then they are sure as heck good news for us...
