All right since someone revived an old thread. I'm looking at a 2017 KTM Super Duke GT. The local dealer has them on sale to clearance out the old. The price maybe to much to pass up. Let's see, 3 kids in college, and I'm thinking of shelling out for a new bike. Yep, the kids may have to start working more. :)

  2. Nice! I have a 2006 Ducati St3 sport tour, maybe I'll go for a spin for lunch along the beach on A1A.

Very nice Ducati. I had looked at a SuperSport that was being cleared out at the local Ducati dealer, but the KTM probably going to be my choice if I crack open the wallet. I was going to head over today and see if I could work on a few more dollars lower, but never made it.

Over the years I have lost two great friends to motorcycle accidents... neither were their fault. One was by a drunk that just ran over him from behind.
They're fun, but there are just too many distracted idiots out there in cars... especially now.
    Love dirt-bikes though.
If I'm gonna get killed its gonna be my own stupidity.... not some Millennial having an identity crisis on FB at 45 MPH in traffic.

    Be careful.

  6. One rule of riding. Ride like you're invisible, no one sees you. RIP for your friend. FYI there's something called a shoulder check when coming to a stop. Many none riders know someone who is down and have many stories. I have many stories of none riders that have never lived but that is not the point of this thread. Many riders do survive and enjoy the sport.
Anyway, your bicycle is more dangerous than a motorcycle. Think about it.

I don't ride a bicycle on the streets either... for the exact same reason.

You can shoulder check all you want... but thats not gonna hit the brakes for some drunk asshole that plows you over while you're sitting in the left turn lane with your blinker on.
Sometimes its NOT a good idea to pretend you're invisible I would think.

Either way... VZ and motorcycles on asphalt don't mix. Thats just me.
Like I said... just be careful.

  9. Lol, I didn't think you know what to do after the shoulder check. You would learn a lot from proper motorcycle training, it goes a long ways. I guess you stay home and not go out. Many die from walking the streets, and some just from staying home and think they are experts. I guess you can die at home, what a waste of a life. BTW are you in any shape to ride a bicycle?
The little dragon on bike is from deals gap, look it up.

Dude... there's absolutely no reason to get bent out of shape about it and start taking cheap-shots at someone you've never met. I was merely sharing my opinion that they are extremely dangerous regardless of how careful one is.

I don't scale mountains or hang glide from cliffs either. Do you do that? No? Damn man... looks like we both live boring lives.

To your point about being in shape.... I do see an awful lot of fat nasty slobs riding motorcycles. Seems to be the case more often than not. I'm sure you're not one of those however.

Ride safe bro. Take dare of that little dragon or whatever it is you were talking about. I'm done here.
