I highly recommend you read up on the new batch of Covid vaccines in early phase trials that are for targeting the N protein...the most abundant viral protein and is highly immunogenic during CoV (covid) infections.

In immunology, it's the primary target for antibody responses that has an additional plus because it contains T cell epitopes.

Yet, Covid vaccines that target the N protein have been causing a mess in the body of tested animals by producing enhanced infection-induced pneumonia via increased pulmonary eosinophil infiltration and TH2 cell-biased responses, causing ERD.

It's the reason why in the beginning they decided to not focus on CoV vaccines that targeted N proteins and produced N-antibodies. In contrast, the body naturally produces it much better but the problem there...you would kill off and injure a larger percentage of the global population trying to achieve natural immunity.
    • Study the history of Influenza and Smallpox when there were no vaccines...just hope for natural immunity.
Simply, you would have had a larger percentage of Deaths in the global population in comparison to a lower percentage of the global population with vaccines while trying to achieve Natural Immunity that takes many years or decades after ripping through the population.
Now that we're nearing the conclusion of the Pandemic...there's been a shift towards other types of CoV vaccines to target the N, E, and M proteins for humoral immune responses...the latter two (E and M) so far have produced inadequate immune responses which is why newer covid vaccine research in early phase trials are focusing on the N proteins.

I remember back last summer (2021) there was a news announcement by the vaccine makers that they were working on newer vaccines that target other proteins instead of the S protein. I assumed they were talking about the N.E.M. proteins.
    • The advantages are economically much better (cheaper) and they would not require low-temperature storage.
In contrast, I think (I could be wrong) that it's China or maybe it was South Korea that's trying to develop the newer types of vaccines that's targeting more proteins than the currently available vaccines. If it's South Korea...I would suspect the U.S. military to be involved in the research.

There are others researching a combo vaccine that targets S.N.E.M. proteins to protect against Covid infections of the lungs and brain. I think we're a few years away from that especially if most of the world lose interest (getting back to a normal way of living) as we traverse from a Pandemic into an Endemic.
    • Regardless, a new Covid vaccine for the N protein that does not cause enhanced pneumonia would be huge news considering it should result in a better economic cost.
As for the history of smallpox and influenza...the anti-vaccine quacks helped kill off or injure more people with their misinformation/disinformation. In my opinion, it resulted in excess mortality rates.

Ironically, many of them that spread misinformation/disinformation were vaccinated when vaccines became available instead of waiting many years in hope of developing natural immunity which is why I believe the same is true today in the Covid Pandemic.

Rich people can shelter much better than the poor. That was true during smallpox and prior Pandemics as they wait it out until the disease rips deadly through the global population. :banghead:

P.S. A wealthy friend of mine from Indiana, she and her family have been living in Hawaii during this entire Pandemic...one of the states with the least Covid spread and Covid deaths.

She said they'll return back to Indiana when people are more socially responsible with Covid. Yet, their kids are loving it in Hawaii and don't want to go back to Indiana. :D

  2. Two things: First, it's not all about you and 2. Where did you get that crap about Australia and hiv? Was it the pillow guy or Sarah Palin...

Please people tell your government to start preparing with drugs and treatments. As Vanden Bossche says.

Better safe than sorry. How can we look ourselves in the mirror if he is correct and we did nothing?

And it looks like he is. The vaccinated are very vulnerable as the virus mutates according to studies.

His new interview starts about 1 hour in.

Seriously, everyone knows we had Variants of Concern: Alpha (United Kingdom/Sept 2020), Beta (South Africa/May 2020), and Gamma (Brazil/Nov 2020)...

First documented cases in unvaccinated individuals prior to vaccination.
    • Not only were the individuals not vaccinated...their community had excessive mortality rates when vaccines were not available.
The above three VOCs are the ones that have caused most of the hospitalization and deaths until the arrival of vaccines.

Omicron (South Africa/Nov 2021) was the first VOC to arrive after the discovery of vaccines and it's been suggested (still researching) that it occurred from rodent transmission to humans...transmitted to someone that was immunocompromise from another disease. Also known as Zoonoses...one of the most common routes of viral mutations.

It mainly produces mild illness even though it spreads much easier because of its ability to evade our immune system regardless if we're vaccinated or not vaccinated although reinfections have been occurring in both groups at a low %.
    • Omicron was very helpful in getting many of the unvaccinated population infected so that they can have some immunity too against possible future mutations.
Today, in some places the Covid infections are ticking upward again...mainly in the remaining not vaccinated population (e.g Shanghai). The good news...hospitalizations and deaths are near Pandemic lows as in decreasing.

Covid vaccines have given us some time until it only becomes a seasonal disease like the Flu that requires a vaccine shot every 1 - 2 years to get us through (minimizes hospitalization & deaths) the worst part of a year and we have antiviral therapeutic drug treatment for those that want to remain unvaccinated.

To get back to the topic of this thread...Who plans to get the covid 19 VACCINE when it comes out...

Away from those that have been attempting to take this thread off-topic instead of starting their own thread on whatever comes to their mind...

With that said, many countries do Covid Vaccination Hesitancy Surveys of their citizens that gives valuable information about age, sex, ethnicity, education, insurance status, and Covid-19 status.
    • I've noticed a few patterns in the survey results.
For example, less educated individuals are least likely to get vaccinated and/or engage in Covid misinformation/disinformation. Males are more vaccine-hesitant than Females. Younger individuals (age 18 - 24) are least likely to get vaccinated than the elderly. Individuals without health insurance are least likely to get vaccinated in comparison to those that have health insurance.

Canadian residents are more vaccinated than the United States. It's interesting because more Canadians rely on health guidance from their primary care physicians than individuals in the United States.

1 in 5 Canadians checked the accuracy of online information they've read about Covid, Pandemic and Vaccines. About 50% spread misinformation without knowing it was misinformation. In comparison, 1 in 3 Americans did the same in comparison.
    • +60% of Americans that identify as Conservative are vaccine-hesitant in comparison to +17% of Americans that identify as Liberals are vaccine-hesitant. In Canada, most Canadians (+80%) are fully vaccinated regardless of political party support.
In fact, more Canadians are vaccinated against Covid than Americans...which explains why there have been fewer (less) Covid infection, hospitalization, ICU admission, and deaths from Covid in Canada than in the United States.
There are countless surveys about Covid vaccine-hesitancy, vaccination status (not polls but vaccination records), and about the unvaccinated that do plan to get vaccinated after 2 years in this Pandemic.
    • Yet, the one statistic that stands out to me the most is the education level of those that are least likely to get vaccinated is along the same education level of those that are spreading vaccine misinformation/disinformation.
    https://news.usc.edu/182848/education-covid-19-vaccine-safety-risks-usc-study/

Further, people of color are more likely to contract COVID-19. Reasons for these racial and ethnic disparities include occupation clustering (e.g., as essential workers), lower average socioeconomic status, geographic location, higher rates of comorbidities and lower access to care.

These disparities can result in conditions that both increase infection rates and limit access to COVID-19 treatment.

As Vanden Bossche says it is very dangerous to mass vaccinate with a leaky vaxx.
    These vaxxes are leaky.

So we put huge pressure on the virus to evolve and to become resistant to the vaxx.
    https://edition.cnn.com/2021/08/01/health/uk-scientists-covid-variant-beat-vaccines-intl/index.html

At the same time each shot makes your natural immunity less and less effective according to new studies. https://igorchudov.substack.com/p/aids-like-chronic-covid-is-taking?s=r

It can only end in some extinction level event Bossche mean. Unless governments prepare now with antiviral drugs etc for the vaccinated.

    This guy explains in detail.
