i hate to admit it, but i was watching it last night - uk whipping the usa.

although its slow, i have to agree with you. i found it quite addictive to watch.

boredom stems from ignorance i guess.

  3. Maybe if they could get rid of the guys with the brooms, I could watch it.

Hey, how come they don't have horse shoes in the summer olympics?

  4. it's also the cheapest olympic sport to get into. Only costs $200 instead of 10-50k for most of the other sports.

they take it in turns to sweep - its a team event. it turns out that that is part of the strategy - how to sweep and where according to the velocity of the 'stone'.

    i'd be up for horseshoes!

  6. When I was a kid, we use to play horseshoes. Then one day this stranger comes up and wants to play.

He throws at least one ringer in every two throws, and sometimes he threw two and even three in a row. Then he went away and came back with a case of beer and while playing, drank the whole case.

That finally slowed him down a bit.

Saw him a time or two after that and then he was gone.

Hadn't thought of that story in years up till today and I couldn't help but digress.

  7. I love curling. Tons of strategy involved. Plus I love watching the girls curl in their tight outfits!

It's been called chess on ice.

  8. When I finally complete my novel (which admittedly is unlikely to be soon) this story will feature. Any more?

  9. Curling is ridiculous.

Perfect for the fake 0lympics though.

I just watched 5 minutes of it and my nose started to bleed.

We're adding tiddlywinks to the Summer O's.
