In Germany, we have Heiko Thieme as the worst permabull I know. He lives in New York, but talks frequently to the german public on radio and tv (in the last months less frequently) always saying: buy, buy, buy. He says, he is a fund manager, but I think is is more a writer and lecturer. http://www.heikothieme.com/main.php/de/thieme/ He is profiled on the website of the german magazine "Focus" (similar to Time or Newsweek) as a pro in US stocks, but his standard account is down 50%. http://www.focus-money.de/PM3D/PM3DA/PM3DAS/pm3das.htm?pagename=musterdepot.php&recht About 1 year ago, when the bear market already had begun, he remained bullish, not only for the US, but also for Japan and Europe. He is the typical product of a long bull market, someone who knew for his lifetime that the only thing you have to do is buy (and hold). He cannot understand the rules of the game have changed. Every long running bull or bear market produces a selection of people who were successful during that period, an evolutionary process which stops at the turning point.
Vkoenig, As fund manager, of course this Thieme is saying to the public : "buy, buy, buy" , ... and guest who is selling?? They are not as dumb as we think they are. The dumbest ones, unfortunatly, are the retails who listen to and follow all those anal-lyst/fund managers' calls. Cheers !!
Ok so this board is full of smart market wise people. So what will it take to get the public to turn these dopes off??? What will it take to turn CNBC off? They have been ruining more people then any anti christ in history. If the market takes out a new low will Mark Haines shut up about calling the bottom? His pounding the table about buying GE after Bill Gross comment has killed public buyers. Cramer and Kudlow a joke. Maria should just leave. The Brain and the Kahuna should go write more books and go surfing. AJ Cohen, Joe Bat, Ned Riley and the rest of that pack have no credibility. It's like wrestling no body keeps score. Disgusted with it all.
I have finally tuned them out. Unfortunately it is my only source of biz news. So I listen for earnings, news and such. I tune out everything else. I'm just a public customer that got train wrecked by listening.
Financial News reporting is a real b___ch. I have watched and watch these guys AFTER the markets close - it relaxes me... nitro
I'm surprised that no one has done an ANTI-CNBC Parody Channel. I have some really old videos with financial news "market calls" they are hillarious! The guests are SO self important and all knowing. They should just re-run cnbc a year later.. Show graphs of their BUY signals, etc. I would definately watch..
One of you should put up a parody channel....put it up through a live feed on a website for 1 hour a morning....Id give you my VISA number for that!!
While not actually a perma bull, this latest addition to CNBC's crack staff of experts is just another in a long line of monkeys for their organ grinder........
