When JH was running his journal, did he post live trades which consistently produced results?
I know his journal had lots of teachings and theories along with a myriad of cryptic terminologies but I couldn't understand it. It's possible he was (bordering on) a genius, but to me reading between the lines he struck me as an out in out fraud. Could be wrong, but that was my impression.
Gann has its followers, again to me - fraud.

No he did not. But if we can nominate dead* people, I would like to follow Jesse Livermore.

  4. Over the 15+ years of his posting did anyone have a degapped display with annotated channels and patterns, etc, to call him a fraud?I didn`t see a single. There were a few with futile attempts though. But then when you really start to dig down, you`ll start to notice he`s for real.

BTW, it`s not possible to trade on bar-by-bar basis and post it live in the journal.

    Gann didn`t use volume!!!;)

  5. That`s my annotation for the last couple of bars using Hershey stuff.Took me longer then trading itself.I won`t be bothered to annotate the whole day for a bunch of lazy ET turds!

I wonder how Hershey has endured that ET nonsense year after year.

I very suspicious about the need to follow anyone. The faster this need fade the better.

Fwiw, He did post his trades via hand-written logs. To continue the myth that he did not is a misrepresentation caused by lack of personal due-diligence. When detractors were too lazy to do personal DD, they generally resorted to crabs in a bucket mentality and went on a campaign of ad hominem attacks against JH.

His style of writing was by design. It creates ‘spaces’ to fill in one’s developing ‘spectrum of differentiation.’ Actively building a glossary becomes a living document. Constantly being updated and refined, it’s a necessary component in ‘putting the pieces together.’

Sure one could dismiss it as ramblings of a fraud. One could also promote the idea that the earth is flat or the sun revolves around the earth.

One could argue but what’s the point? As the saying goes, ‘you can lead a horse to water,...’

I didn’t have the pleasure to interact with him other than through his writings. Never-the-less the pieces are all there scattered in various places on the net and the super majority of it is a creative keyword search away through the ET archives.

There are broken links in some of the threads but the resilience offered by his intended redundancy makes up for it.

His content is definitely in the category of a path less followed, and as such makes all the difference.

I have respect for a number of traders and have learned from some of those and others but the only person who is responsible for your success is the one in the mirror.

You want to follow consistently bad/dumb traders especially the ones with big egos and fade all their calls. e.g. MarketSurfer
