The intellectual debate ... the quotations ... marvellous. But of which of those elements do you accuse Woodie? How would you possibly know? I think you just proved the point of my previous post. -- As the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of a fool.
As I used to introduce the Woodi CCI site a few times on ET here, I Do (as many newbies and successful traders do) hope that many more similar sites to offer (truly) Free services about traders help traders. Personally I would Not mind if this kind of services is even Not free, providing the claims by the services are true and correct. That, and only that, is what I try to learn and understand from this thread.
Nitro - I sense you would need to see trading statements from anyone running a chatroom before you entered that chatroom? At least I think that's what you're saying. Perhaps you are saying you would need to see trading statements before blindly following any calls from a chatroom? These are very different positions as, in the case of Woodie's room, there are no calls to follow. Of the participants, there are people trading a variety of instruments, using different time frames, and accepting different levels of risk. The common denominator is use of CCI, but different people emphasize different ways of doing this. There are no calls and there is no track record. For you and many ET posters this may make the room worthless. In any case, you are obviously fully entitled to decide that you will not enter a chatroom without being able to see 2 years of trading statements from the moderator. Trading gives us all ultimate freedom - thank goodness - and we all make our choices. But others will make their choices differently. To you, that might make them foolish, naive, negligent and so on. But they have their own criteria and may decide that they think (rightly or wrongly) that they could learn something that will improve their profitability and overall trading experience even without (perish the thought) seeing two years of trading statements from the moderator. In the same way that someone might decide that they could possible learn something from reading posts on ET, even without seeing two years worth of trading statements from each poster before reading their contribution. Might there even be a grain of possibility in this? Well, we all make our own decisions as best we can. I suspect this actually had nothing to do with trading statements. One poster submitted his trading records for the day in question earlier in this thread but it cut no ice. After all, what is one day? Another talked of a close associated who had become consistently profitable trading the CCI but was met with posts to the effect of, well, he may be profitable but he'd be mistaken to think it was because of the CCI (just a hint of what would happen within moments of any profitable statements ever being posted me thinks). Others in the room post trades live directly from their trading front ends but these prove nothing because the majority in the room do not post and are therefore probably losers. And so it goes on. All logical arguments. Then we had the discussion of motivation. Well, some perhaps it's enough just to prefer individuals who get their rocks off by helping others rather than hurting them, irrespective of whether their motivation is 'selfish' or not. I have got to know and in some cases met in person a number of extremely accomplished traders through Woodie's room. Many have been professional for years, some are or used to be floor traders, others have followed the home trading root. I find it a highly valuable forum in which to develop my own trading. I have chosen to do this in the absence of seeing Woodie's trading statements. Indeed I have absolutely no interest in seeing his statements (nor Nitro's nor anyone's but me own). Perhaps that makes me the kind of fool some posters will look forward to being opposite their own trades on Monday. From their own words, there appear to be some genuinely elite traders on this forum: "You have some real traders here at Elite, willing to view your account statements to back up what is said". I applaud the good intentions in protecting vulnerable traders from being ripped off (if there's not just the tinniest degree of contradiction here) and the admirable sense of self worth. And I am sure I will never be fit to pick up the scraps discarded by traders as successful as Nitro. I have learned much over recent months reading posts and threads on ET. Likewise, I learn every time I spend time in Woodie's room. I find both excellent resources offering advice, opinions, ideas and so on but at the end of the day we all make our own choices (I hope) - that's why we're all traders.
I have learned something. Be a leader not a mindless follower. Think for yourself. Work Hard. And stay out of Gurusville. And you might just get success out of the markets. But unfortunately, there are still no guarantees. I really could care less if you learn this lesson or not. It's obvious you and your minions are deaf to plain old common sense. My comments are intended for the new trader just starting out. Maybe by my posts, I could save that person some time in his personal journey. And at the very least teach them to keep their guards up when dealing with Gurus. And maybe, and this is a big maybe, I could keep him off the street I had been lost in for so long. Gurusville Boulevard. I wish someone had taken the time and done it for me. I have received many PM(personal messages) and E-mails over the past few days. From the very traders in your room who are simply afraid to speak out and post openly on this board for fear of reprisal. I simply don't have words to describe my sadness for them. I know what struggles they are going through, and I have been through them myself. And I a sure many of these folks will be logging into Woodie chat next week. They simply haven't a clue. Quite sad. As for me picking on woodie, In the future I will try and uncover what is real and what is fake whenever I see it. Which will include calls to the NFA and CFTC, both organizations I had been registered with in the past. www.nfa.futures.org David Scott Wisotzki NFA ID : 0266186 Status currently inactive. I'll let these fine organizations verify fraud and trading practices. You are right , let them decide, not me. Furthermore, for the record, my previous post described my personal journey and not my current situation. As for my personal trading skills, they are quite sharp now. And I'd stack them against anyone on this board. Including yours. Best Regards, Dave Scott
Its pretty hard to fault this post Dave, We clearly still have a disagreement on whether Woodie is someone who can help a proportion of those on the journey but none about the journey itself or the work and learning required. The strangest thing is that you and Woodie probably share similar views about a lot of the things and players out there. My goals don't include being a better trader than you or any other person so thats not a challenge I would consider productive. You might well be right but I hope it doesn't matter to either of us - I enjoy seeing another party in the room take the opposite side of a trade and then have both of us make money. Regards, Kiwi
I and many, many others have observed woodie making trades real time day after day.... > 70% winners Consistently outstanding performance I've not seen emulated elsewhere anytime anywhere by anybody. On one occasion I 'witnessed' woodie trading real time using only the CCI, no price chart showing. As I recall, 10 trades were taken that day. 10 were winners. Superb performance. I know, someone of you'll say how do you know he had no price chart? .... I accept what he said as truth Having met woodie in person and being with him for a day I feel fine with that. and please.... don't label me a woodie disciple ... I haven't been in his room for over a year
Sooner or later, if the Woodie's CCI method is good enough, it and its derivatives would be used openly by many other traders beyond the existing chatroom, even the room would have no limitations over certain number of concurrent users. Supposing there is no any specific reasons that would stop anyone who has the expertise about the method to introduce and teach other leaners outside the existing chatroom, why don't someone (say one of the Woodie CCI site moderators) try to use/discuss the method on ET to exchange ideas for some constructive improvements (who doesn't want to?)? Just 2 cents.
All the evidence you need regarding the $250 per person seminars can be found by reviewing the daily hotcom transcripts of woodies room. It is openly recorded there. Oh and I believe that he prefers cash to checks.
