On WSW there was another fund manager who worked from an office with 3-4 other people, he seemed to have it together.
Sadly I do not recall his name, and he should be getting good publicity.

TIMMAY himself says he initially made hid 1.2 or 1.6 million buying a company that was going to be promoted on 20/20, this company was a tech company. This comes straight from sykes nobody is making this up, he later went on to short microcaps.

Mentioning Jim Cramer in the same sentence as Tim Sykes is insulting to Cramer
That is like saying all people who eat red meat have the same eating habits as Jeffrey Dahmer.

  3. i actually disagree. i'd rather think sykes is a notch or two above Cramer.

nothing sadder than a 60+ (or 50?) yr old guy spouting anti-chinese rhetoric on TV and getting paid for it.

At least Sykes has youth on his side as an excuse.

On that horrendous show he was on there is a scene where he claims that making 50k a day used to excite him. Now that doesnt excite him anymore....a million dollar day is something that gets him excited. Rather funny coming from a guy who traded a 2 million dollar account. Shows you how full of shit he is. Then they showed him whining about losing 5k.

He was a flash in the pan. He did make some good money during the bubble/right after it. Then blew up....wrote a book that 5 people actually purchased....has a DVD which has yet to sell one copy. He now trades 200 shares of stocks nobody is interested in and has a legion of 8-10 morons who praise him and follow him around like lost puppy dogs.

  7. You wanna know what's unreal? Guys who went from nothing to making 50k-250k PER DAY. Yeah that was a common story during those days. The hard part was keeping that money.

Only thing Sykes deserves any real respect for is the fact that he actually managed to keep some of his small wealth. Probably not much left by now but better than most.

Fact is that his shorting micro cap strategy is not exactly legit. Have you ever tried shorting a micro-cap at the end of its pump? Why don't you ask Sykes exactly how he was able to short even a slightly significant amount. You will never get a straight answer.

He realized his luck ran out and is trying to sell bullsh*t to idiots. And he is very sleazy about it. What's there to respect?
