I think the gambit was more than just trying to grab Hillary voters...which won't work by the way. Female voters who wanted Hillary won't go for the right wing positions Palin embraces, especially when it comes to women's rights. One way to look at it would be that women voters who wanted Hillary are in dittohead speak "feminazis" and 4 sure they aren't going to support a woman who is so staunchly right wing when it comes to women's rights over their own bodies. The pick was more likely for some of the following reasons: 1. They can can claim that they have someone with executive branch experience on the ticket. 2. It shows that McCain is still a maverick. 3. She is not a D.C. insider. 4. Her lack of experience, if challenged, opens the door for McBush to point to the lack of experience of Obama. 5. It makes McCain look younger, you know, some old fuck with a younger woman by his side...after all, he did marry a woman young enough to be his daughter. 6. It makes McCain the solid one to focus on. Romney or Rudy might overshadow McCain. Its not a matter of experience. There is noone in the world on his first Presidential election that has any. So its not relevant. The real issue is the pontential and skills required to be a good leader. Its idiotic for John and the Reps to pick this woman, a smokescreen to get Hillary voters on Reps side. Palin even said so the on day she was puking about 18million cracks in Dems. Do you really think this woman as the ability to be Pres of USA? Do any of the Reps believe she has any or they also sadly see the only reason she is there is to get Hillary voters on Johny side? So whats Johny gonna say now about Obama's youth and inexperience. Its an amazing collosal blunder considering John will not last long due to ill - health. Then what? [/B][/QUOTE]
Yehh ZZZzzzzzz The focus has moved from John to Palin. Its the what if scenario i.e Johny kicking the bucket thats got my head spinning. Does any see the Russians, Koreans and Chinese even the Pentagon chiefs engaging in seriuos world business with Palin?
The pick and the timing was also designed to distract away from Obama and the momentum they had following their convention... There is no reasonable foundation that could be laid by McBush that Palin was the most qualified candidate to occupy the office of the president should he not be able to continue. It was all strategy to get elected, and not really thinking what was in the best interest of the American people.
Bush and Chenny not going to attend the Republican convention in order to "monitor" the storm. Any stupid people actually believe that is the real reason?
The funny thing about this is how much sexism the enlightened left is displaying... Obama has a number of years experience in south-side chicago politics, a convention speech in 2004, and three years running for president as a senator on ambigious talk of change .. "We Are Who We Are Waiting For"... I'd far prefer to spend my time with a woman who hunts caribou ... perhaps it's a male thing.
"I'd far prefer to spend my time with a woman who hunts caribou ..." See, that's the problem. Electing a president based on who we think would be more fun to be with is really insane. Voting for a candidate because they share your personal tastes in sports, etc. is ridiculous. Who would chose a surgeon, lawyer, who finished at the bottom of their class simply because they liked hunting over a professional because they like reading Shakespeare? Voting for who people imagined drinking a beer with at a ball game got us Bush for 8 years... Why don't people want to vote for a president who is actually smarter than they are, rather than some dim bulb who can dumb down or exist on the voters own level...
Ok, that is a good reason to feel she is vp best choice. Are you going caribou hunting with Sarah soon?
Actually, I was only half kidding. If you watch speeches being given to very large audiences and relatively smaller ones, you will note that the same speaker will speaking differently, depending on the venue. Size matters. It is not only a matter of amplification, therefore technology is not the only consideration. It has to do with crowd dynamics. If you guys are not aware of this fact, then you really need to get out more or watch stuff other than cartoons on TV. Watch when Obama and McCain both address the same audience (size) in the future. While their styles will still remain distinct in keeping with their individual personalities, you will note something of a convergence. Audience size is a moderating variable.
