Pretty sure that's me, I have £9 left in my bank account, zero saving, zero net worth and a house that's £40K value below mortage. WINNING!!
you may be the winner, yet, are you really as poor or richer than you think? or could it be that only in blighty... that many folks are rich from the living a life in a 'nanny state' [universal guaranteed income], free medial & prescriptions, being unemployed, getting your mortgage interest paid by the government (SMI), relief from property tax/council tax... then not so totally poor? come on admit it that no one in the UK can be poor, even on welfare folks get to have cell phones, all the toys, eating out, holidays abroad ...how the poorest of poor necessities of life differs from country to country. I believe that its possible to be financially poor yet rich.
There are many types of riches. If you have a happy marriage... you are rich. If you are proud of your children... you are rich. If you wake up everyday with no pain... you are rich. If you've learned how to enjoy each moment.... you are rich. If you have friends that would lay down their lives for you... you are rich. And I don't care what anyone says, if you wake up in America free... you are rich.
Whats the name of a person, who went down on his net from $12B to $8B in 2008 ~ The man attached his identity to his wealth. The freaking number, represented - who he was. That man - shot himself. (with $8B remaining in the pocket) The richest man in the graveyard.
Not a Leftie don't believe in claiming unless last resort, haven't claimed a penny since I was 16 and just left school 33years ago. I think ( know ) the only people doing well on Welfare sell drugs on the side ( or Hook ), not worth claiming for the most part, can't see how anyone can survive on it, other than the few Pro's that claim extra on medical / mental health grounds. I have 5K usd just over in trading account, but easy come easy go might not be by next weekend LOL
