TT ...........Trading technologies is good, very good, but expensive. A while back I heard Pats was having some financial trouble but they're still around and people seem to be happy with them, so you might want to look into either of those.

  2. Cdn Trader,

I said that IB was extremely stable and I only reiterated comments that were made to me by my clients. I only repeated observations made by people that have experienced the speed of both systems. I don't think that I knocked them at all!

As far as my comment on Customer service! Read this 10 page thread:

    http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11722&highlight=IB+Support

I only stated fact: I wrote that I have read negative posts concerning their customer service. FACT!

I think that I need lessons in Class from you!!! Like I need a hole in my head! Facts are straight!

    riskless,
your subtle digs at IB aren't so subtle.

one of your clients on this site stated that citrix isn't faster. maybe you are maybe you aren't. the feed back I receive via IB (and also observe from our prop side trading) is that we are as fast or faster than the competition.

service: you point to a thread about funds in a suspense account. everything was resolved. there was more to that situation than meets the eye.

bigger is not necessarily better but we've got clients that want API access, access to global option, futures and equity markets and the desire to put their cash and trade with a firm that is profitable and has a strong balance sheet. while commissions are important, they aren't everything. if so, yould be the biggest futures broker in the world by now.

in short, if you keep your comments focused on your firm we wouldn't have to get into a pissing match every few months.

the problem in credibility for riskless is this :
I bet half of the traders here use IB.
So beating on IB is like beating on them.
It does not help to convince people to work with you. Not most at least.

I read some of your customers are happy with you. That's good. but it is suspicious that you need to beat on others to promote yourself.
And more to the point, as I wrote already, it is not allowed to promote yourself in this forum that way in the first place.

it just makes you look cheap again. a kind of pattern.. but not the right kind of cheap.

  6. Sorry about the not so subtle hints:

I just put down some facts. I do not mean to blast IB. In fact, I
actually recommend them for prospects that do not trade over 371 round trips a month. That is another fact. I just pointed out several things that I have heard! There is no argument that IB is one of the best firms in the marketplace! I can only hope that I can replicate a piece of their success with my small firm. Get that on record, because I tell prospects that! Ask for feedback in what I tell prospects and I think you will find that I spell out the facts and address our problems. I would never say that we are more stable than IB because it is not so, but I do mention speed because that's what we stress. When someone like Traderpc asks a direct question: I can add what I have heard from feedback from our clients and what has been posted on ET about other vendors or brokers.

    Def,
Sorry about getting you pissed again, but the 1 client that you mentioned who evaluated the speed:

Aaron: is a level trader that puts in orders well above and below the market. He never tests the speed of our system, by scalping. He is definitely not one of the clients that I have received feedback from concerning our speed advantage, but he did mention that we have better rates and customer service.

I looked back at the post and I can understand why a few people think that I am blasting IB. It was definitely a biased comment, but I was stating the facts to traderpc. If I did not work at another Broker, I do not think that people would mind so much.
I am sorry if this looks unprofessional and I will let others post their opinions of IB in the future unless it is in direct comparison to FFastTrade.

I have been watching this thread and wanted to give you guys a special offer. We advertise on the board, so Baron allows me to post specials like the one I am going to offer.

For anyone who mentions this thread and calls and asks for Mark,
I will give you one week of free trading, up to $100 in commissions, to try AdvancedFutures.com. We offer the J-Trader and X_Trader platform and have rates that lead the industry.
above and beyond this, we also offer excellent customer service to meet our clients' growing needs.

A new feature many new traders will be interested in is our focus of giving traders solutions to obtaining success in the markets, as close to 80% of all traders fail to make money. We do this through our Quantum Trading Program, which I can give you details on the program.

I trade indexes and bonds through IB. I was there for a year and i am absolutely happy. And lately they were rock solid. But I still want to have a backup broker. I also trade gold/oil sometimes. Does anybody know a good broker with good fees for electronic instruments and also doing NY markets? As of now I use Best Direct for this purpose, but two complaints: they do not want to lower their fees for electronic contracts and 2) the confirmations for NY markets are always very slow. And actually the latter makes me very unhappy.
