  1. If my party was going to choose between Hillary Clinton, Martin O'Malley and Bernie Sanders, I don't think I'd be making jokes about clown cars.

    jem and CaptainObvious like this.
  2. The problem republicans face is not that their candidates are incapable. It is that for the most part they are boring. Take Kasich. He has a great looking wife, as I recall. Otherwise, he is boring. Very qualified, probably do a good job as a caretaker president. Voters don't care. They want a celebrity who will rev them up.

Republicans have one celebrity, Trump. He gave a speech to 1500 republicans last week in Sarasota, which is pretty much Jeb Bush territory. He mocked Jeb mercilessly, mocked Rubio for good measure, made fun of Carly Fiorina, and the crowd ate it up. They surrounded his limo for pictures afterward like he was a rock star.

No one else gets that kind of reception.

  4. Are you suggesting that Trump would be a good president and that he should run?

  5. Donald Trump Takes Formal Steps Toward A 2016 Presidential Run

WASHINGTON, March 18 (Reuters) - Real estate mogul and TV personality Donald Trump took the first steps on Wednesday toward launching a 2016 presidential campaign, a sign the businessman may jump into the Republican race after publicly considering it in years past.

Trump said he had formed an exploratory committee to determine whether to run, and that he had hired staff in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. Those states are among the first to hold Republican and Democratic presidential nominating contests.

"We have lost the respect of the entire world," Trump said in a statement Wednesday. "I am the only one who can make America truly great again!"

  6. Yes on both scores. Who has a better combination of actual accomplishments, street smarts, media saavy and celebrity status?

I'm sure there are plenty of issues I would disagree with him on. At least with him I don't think he would take positions because lobbyists were dictating them to him or that he was acting out some lifelong deep-seated hatred of our country.

  7. This is what passes for having a choice on the left. Two complete loons and one total incompetent hoping to look better by comparison to the two loons.

I demand Trump gets in it... because he might break the hold the cronies have over the dems and the Rs. He may be a crony... but he is also a patriot who for the last decade has been on the correct side of many public issues.

I would like to see trump and Cruz and some of these other guys like walker and maybe paul... work together to point out the changes that have to be made.

  9. Let me just say that if I believed in a god, I would pray to him for Trump to get the Republican nomination. It won't happen, of course, but he is a Democrat's dream Republican candidate. My thoughts are with you on this one.:)
