Who is on the other side of KM Trades?

Discussion in 'Trading' started by nitro, Feb 6, 2002.

  1. I guess investors (speculators?) cannot make up their mind about
Kmart. Will it swim? Will it float? Or will it sink like a too heavy boat?

  3. Actually it was Yesterday....our time logs our different

but AG gapped up on the open. It was NEVER showing a negative if you were to type it into a Level2 screen. To short a stock it must go below yesterday's close which it was far from ever doing.

He was a beauty today. For some of my other scans. I was getting long when there was 900,000 on the bid , the volume an hour after the open was already what the average daily volume was and it was .02 from the current high..........I just wish the entire market was positive so that I would have been more confident on it and used a lot more size. (hindsight now )

  4. Well, I had to go back and read some of the posts. Robert
called AG on Thursday AND Friday! My mistake...

MHU did take quite a dive on Thursday. Looks like a dying
quail at the moment...It seems MHU will fit nicely in this
    "KM" thread...

And as far as "Jack in the Box" selling those "E.coli" burgers,
I believe a lot of them were sold in our area (Seattle). We
didn't touch those hamburgers for a long time....

And Chrysler, do they still sell those cars? It seems they have
the name Daimler or something now...

And KM is speculating? I always thought we were supposed
to buy low and sell high? $1.12 is pretty low!

    :p

  5. Yep I guess AG was on both days. Never produced an entry signal for short system though.

MHU is a beauty what you want to see now is another few down days and than a huge volume spike near the lows. That is usually the sign that everyone who is going to puke is out of the market.

When there is nobody left to puke the only action that can happen is a small short squeeze and the specialist dumping his inventory.

Is it normally likely that the specialists inventory is significant, or is it usually a drop in the bucket?
    p.s. viva capitulation!

I do see where AG was posted on both days, I was just wondering if the upgrade had something to do with the short strategy. Your explanation makes sense, thanks.

MHU was an interesting chart, right through the 50/200 instantly. Is the type of play you are looking at similar to DYII? Where on an up day you would buy above the previous days high in anticipation of late shorts, early shorts, and bargain hunters taking it higher?

  8. The questions are coming now...

Here's another: What if MHU gaps up on Monday? Play it or
    leave it alone?

And 2: Does MHU "need" to go down some more with higher
volume to make a good play?

Looks like 2.85 could be a low. Looks like a dead cat bounce..

And DYII looks like a classic example to me on Feb 5th...Nice...

CA is looking a little interesting...?

  9. Sh*t missed MHU

All of the criteria was there. Positive day and stock turned positive.

    What if it gapped?

Well that depends on how big the gap..

I'll usually go in with smaller size. With same stop

if it keeps going higher go in with a lot more.

    than start peeling off.

    I'll check out CA

  10. not the previous day's high (but it will work) I prefer the close.

That's when the stock "officially" becomes positive
