  7. man

    man

sorry for not going through the whole thread, maybe this comment is already covered. here it is:

what does "win the war" mean for the US?
    US occupying Iraq

what does "win the war" mean for Iraq?
    Iraq occupying the US?

the fact is that a draw would be seen as a loss for the US. So if someone is claiming weapons should be laid down, he is claiming draw, thus defeat of the US, thus is criminalised?

    not seriously

  8. Yes, anyone trying to promote the understanding of the muslim culture is pro-muslim. Along these lines, anyone trying to understand any position other than the US is anti-american. We should hold court here at ET and I should be sentenced to be hanged.

P.s. Saddam is not a muslim. He is disliked in the Muslim world, by Bin Laden even, for exaclty this reason. This war is being fought for the freedom of Iraqis most of whom just happen to be: Muslim.

I'm sorry, did I say Bin Laden? This must mean I am a terrorist, especially since our Chief has not mentioned old Binny in over two years.

  9. Actually, for further clarification, I think math is the best REFLECTION we have of the workings of objective reality, and our interpretation and use of it is our best TOOL for understanding the workings of the objective universe.

  10. Sadaam is a muslum (though he only pretends to be religious, but would you tell millions of others who call themselves muslums but are not especially religious that they are not muslum?). What's more, he has become more loved recently in certain parts of the region (where people are not shiites or kurds, of course) as he has supported extremists and the families of terrorists.

Obviously, someone can be socialist and a patriot (although many people who are unpatriotic happen to fall into socialism), just as someone can be a capitalist and still compassionate (which many people far to the left are brainwashed into believing are mutually exclusive).
