A man gets home, whirls his car into the driveway, runs into the house, slams the door and shouts at the top of his lungs:

"Honey, pack your bags. I won the lottery"!

"Oh my God! What should I pack? Beach stuff? Mountain stuff? Cruise clothes"?

The husband yells back: "I don't care... just pack your sh*t and get out".

Maybe the world's greatest trader is some random ET "guru" like wrbtrader who claims to be an expert, offers zero 3rd-party audited performance of his "pure price action trading" and has a set of groupies and minions on here.

    Or not....

I think that his suicide was bullshit. Let’s call it an “assisted suicide,” shall we?

  7. Warren Buffett without a doubt. At least as a contrarian value seeking investor, since he rarely sells anything. Best hedge fund traders are/were Steve Cohen and Ken Griffin. Best day/pit futures trader was probably Harris Brumfield, better than Tom Baldwin according to insiders. Best option traders were Blair Hull and Don R. Wilson, better than conman Jeff Bishop. Timothy Sykes gets first place as biggest douchebag who got lucky.

  8. John Carter is in my opinion the best trader alive today. I was a member of his trading room about 5 years ago when he made $1.5 Million on a Tesla trade from Noon one day to 9:15 the next morning. They had a surprise news release at about 10:30 Central and the stock exploded to the upside. John waited till it reacted back down to the mean about noon and started to take his positions. He maxed out his PDT account and sold his stock toward the end of the day and added options to his already accumulated stash to hold overnight. He said he expected it to gap up $4 or $5 on the next day opening after the news got around. Next morning it gaped up $12 and John patiently waited a half an hour after the opening and said it was time to take profits. It was a think of beauty to watch him slowly take the positions off to his advantage and not panic selling to the bid. It took about 20 minutes and the total 2 day profit was $1.5 million as he had his account on full display for all to see.

Now did I take advantage of this great opportunity. No, because the price had already gone up too much.

  9. James Simons puts everyone to shame. He wasn't even mentioned once in the 9 pages of replies. Doesn't even have to trade. He lets his machines do it for him and cashes in $1.5 billion a year on average. Never a losing year. $23 billion net worth. In 2010 he had $8 billion cash in 1 of his accounts hidden in Bermuda so nobody really knows the extent of his wealth.

Paulson subprime trade best ever based on 1 year.

    Best overnight trade was Soros.

Best long term investment was Masayoshi Son of softbank. $20 million to $150 billion in 15 years at BABA ATH. 33% of Alibaba.

    Notable mentions:
Warren B received 700 million free shares in BAC not too shabby at exercise price of 7.14. That's like 18 billion free money along with the $1.5 billion in dividends he made.

If Warren was a true god he would have been worth half a trillion with investments in AMZN, GOOGL, and AAPL early on. Son took $20 million into $150 billion just on BABA in 16 years.

There are a lot of people doing stuff out there. I saw a guy - Kam. He was amazing. He did $10,000 into $5,120,000 in less than a month. He never lost. He did pull out every now and then but many times he took a big hit and then the next day he came back.

Not sure what he is doing now. Probably got wiped out.
