  2. Oops. Too late on the processor.

I agree on the XP part. Vista was something that I vowed to never deal with.

The original system is XP, good components and well burned in. It is rock solid, and no other app crashes on it besides LS.

LS assured me that AMD and Vista were ok for them. I built that second system just to satisfy them. They were just so sure there was something wrong with my computer. I mean, the crash dump said invalid memory access (an indication of a pointer problem), and they had me running diagnostics. I had to get beyond it.

I figured that if Vista was different enuf to make the crash go away I would be happy. But if the second system crashed the same way, there could be no refuting that the problem wasn't with my computer. Hence ATI instead of Nvidia, different motherboard, etc.

Both systems are AMD Phenom II 4 cores at 3.2 GHz. Whether for right or wrong, I am partial to AMD processors. I have a lot of Linux systems and optimize for AMD. A different architecture would be a headache for me.

The second system has nothing but essentials installed on it.

Sadly, the LS app crashes exactly the same way on both systems, but with a somehow prettier sound on Vista... :D :D :D

  4. Hmm... why do you say that about AMD? Is there something about them that could affect trading? They are pretty close lipped about their errata...

What do you know? Just a Ford vs. Chevy thing, or is there something that can get in the way of trading? Is interrupt latency high or something?

Bro I've been trading with Lightspeed for many years now. I've traded with Anvil and other frontends. Lightspeed is by far the most stable frontend I've ever use. I would look to your computer, your network, or your internet connection. I really don't think this is a lightspeed issue. I would bet it's on your end.

Try the SSL vs. the VPN, that might do the trick
