Since 2013 We’ve had many swings: 2015/2016 2018 2020 2022 But there are smaller ones too. There are individual earnings, economic releases. this week alone we sold off like 2%. As I think about this thread: if you aren’t a millionaire after 10 years, you are doing it wrong.

Minor and short lived swings in the grand scheme of things, yes? Yes, it's a trader's market now. Long only traders have felt the pain these last two years. Well, that much goes without saying, I suppose. If I could have turned back time, I'd focused on swing trading and investing when I first started out. In fact, that is how I did start out and made a decent pile relatively speaking, but I was stupid enough to pursue day trading. Who knows, I may not have been a millionaire, but I should have been better off than I am now.
He attributes his success to listening to you to stop putzing around and go concentrated when the edge is there.
If you are looking for volatilitty and didn't earn on those events then that should tell you something. In 2016 the futures went limit in the overnight a couple of times.
