Please rephrase the question, I do not understand. If asking about day job, I'm not really interested in disclosing much of my personal life. Perhaps when first on ET this was not a value I had, perhaps my screen name betrays more than I wish now.
Not asking anything personal but when you quit the day job as an investor, what did you do for weekly/monthly income? You may have been in a good enough position that your capital allowed regular drawdown?
I'm out. I'm gonna focus on other things that can enrichen me further. You all can follow @PPC and @Hot Shot. I'm sure listening to them will produce the 8 figure returns that Des and I alluded to earlier in the thread. I also suggest following @DepthTrade. The guy knows how to take a 1MM fictional account and turn it into a 1.01MM fictional account in 4 months. @wxytrader is another to follow. He believes options are a waste of time, but has created a new term o understand volatility. We all call it Vega. See you in a month at the earliest. No ET October!
I find with the sites I visit or audiobooks I listen to,the information is always much the same.Rare to find a real nugget of information you haven't heard before. However,I find that regardless of the repetition,I tend to have a laser focus on the relevant topic after exposure to the relevant site or book.My brain starts to have ideas and come up with strategies related to that particular arena. Just my way of looking of it. *Edit to say that I don't disagree that its easy to get sidetracked on ET.haha
I've been trading full time since 2000 (although poorly for longer than needed) and a member of ET since 2003. Early on I was looking for ideas, directions and resources and in recent years mostly to contribute as most of what I've learned had been the hard way and if I can help others avoid some pitfalls, I am happy to do so. Maybe it's my perception but it seems as if the population of serous pro's has declined as the population of fools and bullshitters has increased. It's important for all of us to decide how we spend our time.
What a good idea! Think I'll join you. I'm finding more mindless bickering and less content that I feel is relevant.
Most likely correlates to the rise of Algo dominance, HFT’s, SM Influencer culture and the rise of spam. Prior to that we had BBS and Usenet culture which, imho had depth. Now in post-modern age, the rise of novelty with “Freedom of Speech” subverted to “freedom to lie without accountability”, the slippery slope is to be jaded.
Maybe those who complain about the quality of ET should consider how they're contributing and elevating or lowering the discussion. This thread went off-topic quickly. Don't just complain and reminisce about the glory days of the past. Contribute and be part of the solution.
