Race issues in the US is a 2 way street. I suspect a greater percentage of blacks are prejudiced against whites than the other way around. I've volunteered for years and 90% of the kids I work with are black. Many blacks face an uphill battle due to poor role models, no father around and often a single parent raising them on a feeble income who is likely to be poorly educated themselves. That said, going through life blaming 'whitey' won't solve any problems.
Racism is a sticky issue in America. Originally, slaves were "bought" and therefore regarded as "property of the buyer"... no different than livestock. (Not saying that's right, just how it was.) Slaves were historically thought of as a "lower class" of humans... not just in the early days of America, but around the world. We've evolved away from that by huge measures... but when we have incidents like Ferguson and race baiters like Sharpton, Jackson, Farrakahn stirring up animosities, sometimes seems like we've made little progress. Question. Do the blacks where you live roam in packs, murder white citizens, loot and destroy property? If not, maybe yours are different from some of ours.
All true. The world sees what we can't. However, it is also true that India can't see its own caste problems, England can't see its own class problems, and various other countries can't see their problems with "others". It isn't just an American problem. But that's no excuse for doing nothing about it.
Sharpton et al would be unable to "stir up animosities" if there were no animosities to stir up. The animosities exist because of people like you.
Hey dumbshit ... I volunteer in the community and have worked with thousands of black kids over the past 13 years. And you? You sit in your cramped apartment jacking off to a Judy Garland album while posting useless drivel on ET 24/7. So I have plenty of firsthand experiences in the race issues of this country, particularly with high poverty people. Meanwhile you have no experience other than cut & pastes from Huff Post and Salon. In reality you are the biggest racist or bigot here ... you defend the behavior of criminals just because they're black. Sadly, the reality is where you lose time and time again. And as usual ... when you can't debate an issue you revert to name calling.
The way I see your problem in the US, is that you are turning around the real matter, but not facing it straight. We had Money_Trust who posed for a black man, for him I now understand to be able to express beliefs he felt would not be good for pale-skinned individuals ( I am a bit tired about your white and black divisions, and my book is also making some words meaningless). He felt he had to LIE so as to be able to express his belief system. I thus defend Scataphagos, because he is actually part of the solution: he is expressing clearly what his issues are ( liberalism that I can not understand), thus willing to get other people to understand his experience. He also expressed family conditioning ( parents words and examples). Now, it was totally left to himself to make sense of all of this : family conditioning, media conditioning, bad examples conditioning. Scataphagos has the real merit of honesty, and actually allows to define how the conditioning takes place AND why it works ( media conditioning help, pals like Money_Trust encouragement, ...)
DHOHHI : what do you think of these chartered schools, specially the Kipp one? Could your efforts now be more effective by trying to find a way to increase the number of these Kipp schools?
