  1. I'm not familiar the Texas high risk pool. Thank godness you and your family have some sort of coverage.

Would the dropping of the "public Option," have any effect on your mom and GF's coverage?

  2. For me the public option would make the rates I pay lower

The high risk pool is for people who cant get regular health ins but the rates are about double.I have to pay more but I'm am still glad just to be able to get it but I feel bad for those that don't even have that option

I was watching CNN and they were talking about co opp, just like regular health ins they turn people down for pre existing conditions. The CNN reporter asked whats the point and they said they bring competition which bring down cost but it doesn't guarantee that health ins is available to everyone. There are 2 States they mentioned with co opps and those states still have a high number of uninsured

The public option is also a moral issue for me.I don't think there should be free health care, but affordable heath care should be available to everyone imo

Insurance companies really are part of the problem. I read a Consumer Reports article on Health Insurance companies, there were about three that were great and a zillion others that were just typical American garbage, lots of complaints and lots of income for the owners.... free markets don't solve things, well regulated free markets however are just bitchin'... hopefully the States can put together a good mix of free market and good regulation, that's my prayer for the country.. and there will have to be some public entity to subsidize insurance for those of us with preexisting conditions but it's unconstitutional for the Federal government to be in that business.. same goes for all the education, health and welfare.. are they doing a good job in the education sector for example? Don't try to bullshit me, I know the history of education in the US.. it's been horrifically maimed since the Fed took it over, just destroyed... so I'd say we should be arguing entirely against the fed doing anything.. only Socialists want the Fed to "Do Something"...

  5. F>ing lobbyists got to him. They win every time. Its what I'm telling you, corporations and lobbyists wag politicians, not the other way around. You know about Bill McGuire, former CEO of United Health care. He gets indicted for back dating options, fined 400 million and gets a golden parachute, the biggest in history, of 1.1 BILLION.
