I was merely pointing out that Trump claimed most of the federal employees were Democrats which is diametrically opposed to the probability of Trump's claim that most federal workers support him. The reality -- as I have pointed out earlier -- is that Trump's earlier statement that most of the federal workers going without pay on furlough are Democrats is likely true if you dug through all the statistics -- making it one of his true statements.... but one that should be completely irrelevant to the shutdown.

Most of the employees are OUTSIDE the D.C. area and also government workers have nothing to do with how a state votes. They are a tiny part of the local population. Actually I provided a complete post on how to dig through the statistics including references to the location of the workers, etc. Your are welcome to go further with the exercise. However based on the departments being furloughed, the location of the workers in these departments (with a large majority being around DC), and the statistics on voter registrations in the surrounding MD & VA counties plus DC -- it is likely Trumps' assertion is true. The problem with his assertion is that it should have no relevance to the situation and if Trump actually is targeting Democratic workers with a government shutdown then he is breaking the law.
I have stated multiple times that Trump bears the majority of the responsibility and fault for the shutdown.
