  1. Good Morning flash crash,

    I agree.

I don't believe anyone making serious money trading will show someone how they making serious money trading.

    Trading YouTubers sale trading courses.

I agree with most here, YouTubers are YouTubers first, teachers second, trading is a means to an end. You Tube is a good for learning details of different trading methods and strategies, then adjust to suit yourself.

So while I believe Tom Sosnoff has gained his riches from selling out his programs and companies (ThinkorSwim) for huge profits, I have learned a great deal from his TastyTrade(LIVE) programs, that don’t seem to sell anything (except to try our their brokerage.) Teaching how selling option premium works, has helped me find a system that works for me. I know they don’t show Tom’s P/L at all, except for posting all of the staff’s trades every day, all day.

I use the following websites to learn the processes for free. Although their videos are posted on You Tube, they aren’t primarily You Tubers.

tastylive.com My first exposure to selling options premium.
schwab.com My brokerage’s learning section has tons of teaching seminars.
barchart.com My research site for all facets of trading. Only selling their Premium sub.

I do watch a few You Tubers who profess to use the same Premium Selling system, to learn any tips and tricks. But always ask, why are they on You Tube?

The problem with trying to learn to trade on YouTube is that by the time you get good enough to know who is worth paying attention to, you will already know most of the useful trading information you can get from YouTube.

Things like tutorials on trading platforms might be useful, but it’s highly unlikely you will benefit from anything strategy related. It’s much more likely you will be led in the wrong direction and have your time and probably your capital wasted.

Either get with a legit firm that is willing to enlighten you or tough it out yourself by putting in the kind of effort required of a serious profession.

Fair point, but isn't there at least some value in seeing different approaches and perspectives? Even if most YouTube strategies are junk, couldn’t exposure to various ideas help refine your own trading style?

@padutrader was on YouTube for a week, but YouTube's servers could not cope with the unprecedented number of followers he was getting, so they suspended his account :D

I hope he's OK, haven't seen him posting for few months now. Rumor has it that he's been convicted of insider trading. :D

I thought one post would be enough, but there is so much garbage being pushed in the thread that I'll just link this guy one more time. Not endorsing the "membership" stuff but this guy is a real trader at least.
