I think the only few (potentially) legit trade channels I came across, that makes more money than selling courses, subscriptions or monetization was Madaz & maybe Matt. The fake gurus/wannabes are a dime in a dozen.
Minervini's a proven good trader but also makes a buttload of money from selling courses. I guess he's afraid he's gonna outlive his money.
Spending some time watching videos and reading on his website, nothing jumps out that would suggest he is faking it. But the results are extraordinary, and for something like this, I'd want to see in-depth trade history. He mentions his win rate is low. On the website, he quotes 25% winners in 2019, and a video from 2020 I watched, he mentions about 60 to 70% losers. But I want to see them. The setups are fairly simple I think, but like with most pros, it isn't so much the setup, but his years of chart analysis that makes the final call for trade entry. And this is perhaps where his alpha comes from. He mentions that he started from just thousands of dollars, so this puts him in the best traders of all time. I'd really like to see a monthly statement with fills for all the trades.
About 300 episodes with several traders, and you didn't find anything interesting. Nothing at all. I guess the question is for you then, can you recommend anyone that would keep up to your standards?
Why would he do that, though? Assuming he's the real deal (which I'm inclined to believe) he's extremely generous already by putting up so much free content. As I understand it, he streams on Twitch. Also for free. Check that out. There was another trader in the recent Market Wizards book with similar and probably even better results doing something similar. At the face of it - he's extremely good at cutting his losses and riding his winners. The epitome of successful trading and something which most ain't able to do and instead go about it the other way around. You could check out his episode in Chat with Traders. Allegedly, he had made his first million (not sure if it was in SEK which would be 100K USD) as a day trader before he started swing trading. Of course, the markets have been extremely favourable for swing trading the long side over the last 10 years.
this guy has 82mm (often making 5 or 10mm in a month) put up a website showing his trades in real-time but won’t show his pnl in real-time? What’s his motivation for all this?
I read that. Seemed pretty offended by a question he asked himself. one of the testimonials says, “I know you asked us to give testimonials so here’s mine.” Odd that a guy whose worth 80mm ask people for testimonials to advertise his chat room which he does out of the graciousness of his heart while being upset about sharing his real-time pnl in his own FAQ.
