    Where are the protective gods, gold and silver, when you need them oh gold bulls?
    I know where! Nowhere to be seen as as usual oh cultists.

    I suppose at least gold is doing less bad than the stock market. And certainly a lot less bad than crypto. :D

    It will be interesting to see which asset classes come out of this bearish period of deleveraging the strongest.

    Commodities I think. :) Metals, wheat etc. (Excluding gold & silver)
    Battery metals were fairing well.
    Uranium I think is just starting off.
    Coal, this one has me puzzled, but looking back very long term I think performing poorly in terms of coal price, but individually some coal stocks have done well, myself, I avoid coal stocks.

    Above chart SPX (black) & Gold (orange) pricegoing back to 1981.
    Log chart.
    What I notice, at every recession/major pullback, gold is climbing prior to the bottom.
    What is different this time, gold is flat.

    Maybe, the current recession needs much more time to work itself out.

    One thing Gold also needs is the Dollar to weaken ... substantially.

    One would assume there was some sort of demand for silver being an industrial metal, but price is where it was 14 years ago.

    Supply, plenty of it, keeps coming to market.

    Notwithstanding what silver tinfoilhat wearers crow about.

    Now altogether, lets sing this song....

    "Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
    let me hide myself in thee;
    let the water and the blood,
    from my wounded side which flows,
    be of sin the double cured bacon;
    save my wrath and make me spit tacks."

    But what I love best, is the precious metals evangelicals who never give up the faith. :)

    The big reset. The collapse of USD. It's always just around the corner.

    One day it almost certainly will happen but there's just the little matter of timing...

    Most of the old gold bug crowd probably won't be around to see it.

    There seems to be a similar mindset among the Bitcoin devotees.
